Re: Penn State Football
"Goodwill, i heard you tore it up in flag football on the streets of south-central Fishertown, if someone will post your address, I'll be sure to get 2-3 handwritten letters in the mail to you today...After all, State College and Fishertown are one in the same. You'll love it here. There's lots to do, like watch the grass grow, watch the paint dry on the Mailpouch barn, and oh yeah, come to watch our football team. It's like going to church on Saturdays for some folks here and Coach Paterno is the high priest. "
I am sorry WT you must have me mistaken for another good looking guy and besides I never played flag football in Fishertown. I did date a girl from Fishertown and she must have been a Pitt fan--she just laid down and took it. I used to chew Levi Garrrett, Mailpouch is too strong for me.
Man WT the doctor should've slapped your mother when you were born. Maybe someday we will meet, have few Irns (you more than likely drink a sissy drink) and laugh about the good ole days when football was played without face masks. During this time you can impress me with you knowledge, meanwhile I will be getting drunk and you can have your way with me. Face it you are a stud and Beano Cook is nothing in my book. Rock on WT
Are you going to write me love letters if I give you my address???? xoxoxoxoxox

Re: Penn State Football
Real fans? Like the ones in Happy Valley who bailed out of the Iowa game in the 3rd quarter a couple of years ago, then couldn't get back in when PSU took the Hawkeyes into overtime? Those fans, who were more interested in tailgating than sticking with the team til the end?.....Alot of polls have PSU ranked above Pitt this pre-season? Which ones were these? I'd like to look them up.

Goodwill,
Thanks for the response, I'll be sure to get a handwritten letter out to you, you sound like just the type of gentleman that PSU needs.
Hey, get me the address of that girl you used to date from Fishertown! Does she have any eligibility left? I'd like to send her a handwritten letter to see if she has any interest in becoming part of our program. We need more gals like her on campus. It sounds like she would fit right in at PSU as well. I'd bet SHE could play linebacker too, especially if you dated her!
Yours, in blue and whote,
Tom Iwantgoodwilltocommitafterisendhimahandwrittenletter Bradley
PS-Did you get me the address of that Reggie guy yet? I think he could really help our linebacking corps.
PSS-I cannot write any recruits loveletters. Joe's son already did that with Zack Mills and Mike McQueery and the NCAA slapped our wrists. Sorry about that.

Re: Penn State Football
I haven't seen a preseason poll with PSU ahead of Pitt. Most have Pitt around 18 and PSU about 25th or "honorable mention", you know, just like how McCort goes 6-3 every year and is still somehow ranked HM in the state. How a team gets any credibility when they lose to every tough team on the schedule, who knows.
Careful, bird-brains... you keep worrying about Penn State and Louisville might beat you by seventy instead of fifty eight. You have more important problems to worry about than Paterno not wanting you on the schedule. Maybe, if you fans would actually care about your team and focus on the task at hand, you won't end up 8-5 every season. In your most glorious moment in 20 years, your team was an embarrassment to such an extent that the BCS committee wants to review the Big East's automatic bid. You lost by 400 points to a team in the Mountain West that didn't even have a full 4 years to actually recruit and build a solid team. Watch and see how bad Utah gets from here on out. Rumor has it the entire Utah defense all had cracked ribs and dislocated shoulders after each of them took turns hitting Palko so many times in the Pitt backfield. What a game.
You have bigger issues right now. Like how you can actually beat WVU this season, how you may be able to hold Brohm to a little over 750 passing yards against you, and Greg Robinson taking control of a talented but under-achieving Syracuse defense. You've got issues, fellas. But instead of discussing that, you bring up Askari Adams and handwritten letters and how Penn State fans rubbed it in your face when Pitt was 1-11 every year. But I guess every baby needs his bottle.
Only game in town, how many times has that argument been shot down now? 15? What's the problem with the Canes attendance? How about Michigan or Notre Dame? How about Maryland having the Skins and Ravens nearby? How about Washington? Boston College doesn't have attendance woes, and the best team in the world plays in the same city. I don't remember USC or UCLA bawling their eyes out when they had TWO pro teams in the same city. What do these programs have in common? A reputation of winning football games.
Sorry, Panther fans, but you are going to have to EARN your attendance, the old fashioned way: by winning football games, on the dang field, just like everybody else has. You get credibility by beating the teams on your schedule that you are not supposed to beat. Pitt has yet to do any of that. What crazy concepts.

Re: Penn State Football
Dear Ancient Mariner,
I love your post! It's about time some of you from our Blue and White Folk Cult shed some reality therapy on these Pitt fans!
Could you copy your post into your own handwriting and send 30 copies to all of the bird brain Pitt fans who post on here? Does anyone have their addresses? They are delusional. Their football team stinks. They lost to Utah by a zillion points. Heck, we played Iowa a lot tougher than that. Had we been able to draw those two bases loaded walks at the end of the game, we would've offset that 3 run homer Iowa hit in the 7th inning. We only lost 6-4 to them, though. I was proud of our linebackers and our infielders in that game!
However, we shouldn't be worried about Pitt, we should be worried about recruiting more guys to play linebacker. We need to focus our offense on getting more safeties so we can score more points. I'm petitioning the NCAA to allow a safety to count as 6 points instead of 2 points. Do you think they'll bite on that proopsal? I have the Grand Old Man of College Football and the Self-Proclaimed inventor of the game on my side. Surely, everyone will listen to Coach Paterno, He's an Icon!
I think if we can get a few good linebackers like Justin King, and maybe convert Anthony Morelli and Micheal Robinson to ILB and OLB, we can hang a little better with Iowa, and who knows, maybe we can get 4 safeties this year and win 8-6!
Pitt's weak and they can't even come close to packing their stadium lie we do every home game. How can Pitt be so stupid??? Everyone knows that a full stadium and 110K in the seats translates to more victories! Those 110K in the stands every game should also erase at least some of those 34 losses over the past 5 years, right? That does it--because our attendance is so high, I don't think that many of those 34 losses in the last 5 years (an average of 7 per year) should count against our all-time record!!!! I AM STARTING A HANDWRITTEN LETTER CAMPAIGN TO THE NCAA PETITIONING THEM TO RESCIND THOSE 7 LOSSES PER SEASON OVER THE LAST 5 SEASONS. I plan on flooding the NCAA offices with handwritten letters asking them to change our all-time record. I mean, we fill the stadium every game with 110K, we should just be handed the W. I'm so sick of this unfair treatment. It's just not fair--we get all those people in the stands, that should mean we just automatically get the "W"!!!!
We've won 26 games in the last 5 years and have gone to one bowl. During the same time period, we only lost 34 games. We even had a 2000 yard rusher, who racked up 1300 of those yards in 4 games against Indiana, Illini, WhatsamattahU, and PodunkU. He got cheated out of the Hesiman! I think he should've been a linebacker, but that's just my opinion.
Yeah, I like the UCLA and USC comparison to Pittsburgh...That's a good one! Everyone knows that the LA market only has 350,000 people to draw from like Pittsburgh and not 7 million! That wouldn't make any difference. Pitt will never get fans. They are a bunch of losers. Besides, we'll get all the Pittsburgh recruits, becasue I plan to ask Coach Paterno to budget more money (we have it anyway because we fill the stands every game!!!) to buy all of the pens and paper in the Pittsburgh area so that I can write handwritten letters to every hs football player in western PA. Take that, Wanny!!!
Yeah, and losing to Utah was a disgrace for that Pitt program. They embarassed the Big East. Now the BCS wants the #10 team from the Big 10 to take that spot. I'm sure we could've give Utah a closer game. Especially if that Alex Smth kid transferred here and I made him a LB. The score probably would've been 3-2 because they have a little better cleanup hitter than us. I think I'll send Alex a handwritten letter or maybe 20 and ask him to reconsider turing pro and come here.
Pitt should worry about their own house...After all, Louisville and Cuse, and WVU and all those other patsies are liable to jump up and bite them. I think we could hang with Louisville, if we could keep them under 4 points, I think we have a great shot to win!!! I think we'd win the game 4-3. That's it.
Those babies should get their bottles! I think I'm going to send those Pitt babies handwritten letters and tell them to go suck on a bottle.
Sheesh, Pitt's just jealous...Maybe if Pitt had sent Justin King 30 handwritten letters in a single day like I did, then they'd have been able to land him.
Pitt's terrible, they stink, and everyone knows it. Someone just sent me a handwritten letter and told me that. I think the handwritten letter was signed "Coach Paterno." I wonder if my current (Joe) or future (Jay) boss wrote that handwritten note? Oh wait, they're both my bosses right now and run the program together. I heard that before Joe retires, he'll request that he and his son Jay be "Associate Head Coaches" during Joe's last year to smooth out Jay's transition to the big time. I think that's a great idea. The University President Joe Paterno is already putting this plan in the works to insure that the legacy and name will continue within the dynasty. Succession is the only important thing in dynasties, right?
That's OK though, I'll remian the loyal company man, but I AM a little worried that Jay will cut the budget for paper and pens. Those handwritten letters are so important to our program! It could be the difference between 26-34 and 30-30...or 8-6 instead of 6-4. I hope that Jay realizes this and carries on The Emperor's tradition. Hey, I got a handwritten letter from some PSU fan today that said that the Emperor isn't wearing any clothes. That could never happen, could it?
OK, I'll have to go analyze that handwriting on that letter now to see if it was Joe's or Jay's. Gotta run!
Sincerely,
Tom Weshouldautomaticallygetthewinjustbecauseweput110Kinthestandseveryhomegame Bradley
PS-Can you get me the address of that great QB from that Friday Night Lights HS in Texas? I need to send him a few handwritten letters today. I'm planning to convert him to LB. Did you know our college is called LB University?
