Re: LEGION PLAYOFFS
Saints win 11-2 behind a 9 inning gem from Broc Jennings. Drew Shaulis just didn't have it, giving up a run or 2 here, there. Dan Myers had two doubles driving in several runs, as did Jeff Rolla. Angermeier gave up a solo shot to Aaron Mehall in the 8th that landed on the tennis courts. When his Dad went to the Somerset bench a bit later to retrieve the ball his son had hit, as he's collected Aaron's HR balls for years, Manager Bob Hay WOULD NOT give it to him, even with the offer of a nearly new ball in exchange. Everybody around me that "knows" Mr. Hay all expressed amazement that he would show so little class like that. The real excitement came when a woman living near the field's rear parking lot started screaming because a punk had stolen her purse. Police showed up 10 minutes later. Typical.

BTW- In my humble opinion, Bedford was a better team than Somerset. Was that other division really that weak?

Re: LEGION PLAYOFFS
The Saints went 2-2 last week in State College. They had the toughest draw, with St. College the first game, losing 11-2, then beating DuBois 6-5, and Somerset (again) 8-4, before meeting and losing again to St. College, 13-4. Now- in all fairness, the State College region has NO equivalent of the Johnstown Junior League, or Altoona's Kelly or Federation league, therefore the "cream of the crop" up there plays Legion ball. St. College had 80 kids TRY OUT for their team this year. No wonder they dominate. The top players from the Cambria Somerset League are playing in Johnstown for a shot at the AAABA tournament starting next week. GO GRAYS!!!
