CT vs. Windber-Round 2

How did CT not only beat windber, but shut them out in week 2? One thing that gets missed by most people. You know how Windber has that severe angle blocking? The lineman submarined (bearcrawled) in a 5-3... Berlin did the same thing, it's why both of thier games were down to the wire. If it wern't for berlin's suspect secondary that game was thiers. It seems like such a trivial thing, but when your linebackers are making key reads and getting free runs at the backs.. You can't expect to do much on the ground, which will most likely put windber into a passing situation, where CT has one of the best secondaries in the area.

The HB Draw was most likely a field position play, im pretty dang sure that the coach didn't actually expect the first down. Like someone else mentioned, why risk the pic if you can gain 5 - 10 yards or possibly more...

I agree with you compeltely on the first paragraph...CT has too good a secondary and strong defensive front and once they figure our your run game..you are screwed. I understand what your saying with the draw, but still have to disagree. Its one thing to try and pick up 5-10 on the ground in a 3rd and long situation..but only when you've been evenly dividing your pass and run. CT is a team of habit, or at least their coach is a coach of habit, and they had been running the same play all season on 3rd and long. Township lined up in a 3 wr split and Everett packed everyone in the box in anticipation of the draw...Jarod Nanna picked up -1 yds on that play. So my point was...if your QB is 6-6 on the day...let him throw for mid-range out, a slice, or a flag route...hell, run play action since they expect the run...throw a mid range pass and shoot for the first down. If you dont get it, you dont get it, but more than likely you'll get a few yards to add on to your field position for the punt.

As for RobQ...i dont entirely disagree, and i know what your saying. But CT faced two deep threats in Petrilla and Zellem when they played north star. They also faced deep threats against portage in Hershberger and Pisarchik, they held Swires to 3 completions for 75 yds (one of which was a 50 yard pass that occured becuase CT's DB was on the ground with a cramp)

So, honestly, throw in Ulasky, Clark, or even Erickson and they have to face FS/DB trio of Matt Jones, Keith Myers, and Kyle Zambanini, who have combined for 16 INTs and 3 pick 6s on the year and are by far the best secondary in the WestPAC

It all comed down to whether or not Windber can establish a run game four a full 4 quarters...and with Township's tough D..i just dont see that happening...

I hope you arent a player, becuase that is the kind of attitude that leads to playoff losses.

The bright side for either team is...if you lose, you don't have to play Clairton (the likely WPIAL A winner) PLUS you get to have all of your basketball starters (especially important for CT) back in time for the start of basketball training camp

well think about it.... whether i play for township or not..... which i do.... i just can't see windber... our biggest rival losing to us twice..... and the 2nd time for district 5 title.... uhh. no... i am not saying i am putting the money on windber.. i am just saying that they are gonna put up a stronger fight than what they did in week 2.

if you are a player on that team you should turn in your equipment yesterday-- im sure you will put out the extra effort necessary for the team-- not your team-- to help them win-- that is the worst post i ever read on here-- do yourself and your fottball team a favor and just stay at home-- i can see you have a bright future ahead of you-- i just hope you are in your mid twenties and bitter from your highschool experiences--- dont pollute the team concept with your loser attitude-- the fan--

i am not downing my team. if you would even no who i was.... you would not even be saying that ****. i am one of the leaders of that team, and that is how it has been all season long... got a problem with it... well to bad, cuz there is nothing you can do about it... but ****... from the bleachers... all i am saying is i just don't see this being an easy win like it was in week 2.. and you blow it way out of proportion.

do yourself a favor young man-- worry about school- stay off here-- and if you are a TEAM LEADER-- the future is very very bleak indeed-- your the kind of guy that really inspires others around you --- quit before kickoff-- the team is better off without you-- id rather have a soph in the game thats hungry for playing time and a win then with you--- shouldnt you be in class anyway-- its heartwarming to know we have team leaders like you out there in the world-- the fan---
