Ah ****,

So I would say that either Penn State or Big East runner up will not make it. That is if Boise or TCU don't lay an egg.

Ok, I see how this could happen. But, honestly should PSU be able to get the bid over Iowa IF both teams win this weekend? I know the BCS only has to be in the top 14 or whatever...but Iowa would finish ahead of PSU in the B10, even Wisky would i think. How do you spell BULLCRAP? BCS.

I'm pretty that it would be up to the bowls of whether to take Iowa or Penn State. Although it may not be fair, Penn State would probably be a more appealing team than Iowa due to how well they travel and Iowa may still not have its starting running back and quarterback.

I would be shocked abpk if both Boise State and TCU get the invite to a BCS game. The contract clearly only requires one non-BCS to make it and I would be very surprised if they just take a 2nd for the sake of it, even if 2 might deserve it and i say might b/c Boise State really isn't worthy if you ask me. They beat one good team, which is more than PSU deserving it as well, but financially it is a good call to take PSU and we all know that $$$ is the driving factor in college football and will be the reason why only TCU gets the invite.

A couple things to remember with the BCS.

1. Often the rankings change significantly after the last games. Some people don't think much about the rankings until after everything is over. I would be surprised if Iowa did not jump PSU by the end.

2. TCU and Boise State are not as attractive financially, so I don't think it matters if one of them lays an egg. The sad thing is that this year there are not any at-large candidates who are worthy of jumping them, but one probably will for financial reasons. Another reason why the BCS stinks. Why not have a committee (like basketball) that chooses the representatives?

Because the bowls are private companies. How would you like it if I came down to you and your dad's auto shop and told you how much to charge and which parts you were allowed to use?

It's almost there anyway with Daddy Obama already chiming in about needing a college football playoff that would fit right in with the rest of his socialist views.

The last place in the world we need to talk about obama's socialist views is here on bleachercoaches. That is the one wonderful thing about sports that elevates them above many other things...no matter what is happening in the world, sports provide us that escape!

Good point, Bison.

Going back to the PSU/BCS discussion...

Now the losses start gettinh weighed. PSU lost to 2 top ranked teams. Iowa lost to an unranked NW that lost to Syracuse, I believe. The outcome of the Iowa-PSU head to head match has no relevance in who gets selected.
