I'm really not sure how you can say Penn State would have lost the Northwestern and Michigan games. Bolden had 2 series in the NW game. He was 3-4 passing and led 2 drives the last one ending in a sack fumble. Mcgloin came in and also did nothing his first 3 drives. Mcgloin benefited from playing poor defenses just as Bolden would have. They both played badly against good defenses. Say what you want about the Ohio State game but Mcgloin threw 2 pick 6's in that game and did nothing after the first two drives. He looked horrible yesterday. He is what he is a walk on. They had a QB who has a great arm and release that they could have grown with and gave him invaluable game experience for next year. Instead it's back to the drawing board.

Normally I watch games by myself and so I don't have anyone to listen to me, but my poor dad had to listen to me twice this year. McGloin is a good story and I'm sure a competitor, but he should NOT be playing next year. He has uncanny luck because he throws as many balls to the other team as any QB I've seen and they drop them constantly. Yesterday Florida could have had at least two other picks they flat dropped.
If Bolden isn't under center next year, I guess I'll root for Pitt.

Kirk, they were not that good this year. Is Bolden a more talented QB, you betcha. They just couldn't score points with him behind center. Instead of just having the offense handed to him for the next four years he will actually have to work for his time on the field. I know you like to give this coaching staff zero credit, although more years than not they produce a pretty dang good football team, but I do give them credit at making the switch and giving the team a chance to get to a bowl. I really do not think this team would have been bowl eligible if they went with Bolden all season. That offense wasn't going anywhere against NW but if you want to hang your hat on Bolden going 3 for 4, go ahead. Interceptions are what you get with McGloin because unlike Bolden he doesn't have a problem trying to get the ball down the field.

I wasn't hanging my hat on 3-4 but it makes little sense that he gets pulled for that but Mcgloin stays in throwing the ball to gators all day. Hey you got what you wanted Bolden is transferring. You and your buddy joe get 2 more years of a walk on QB throwin it down field to the other team all day.
