Ridgway would've had to play the game of their lives to stay within 10 of Lincoln Park. I am telling you, LP would've had a legit shot at making the western final in AA, AAA, and AAAA as well. They are NOT your typical class A team.

Good games this weekend so far.....

12:00 AA Girls Seton LaSalle(Maybe the best team in the state, regardless of class) vs. York Catholic

2:00 A Boys Lincoln Park(Temple recruit, Devonte Watson) vs. Constitution (353rd ranked player in the country! UCLA,UConn among others on the trail)

6:00 AAAA Girls Oakland Catholic vs. Archbishop Carroll

8:00 AAA Boys Montour vs. Neumann-Goretti Rematch from last year. Neumann-Gpretti won by 10 last year, and they feature one of the best sophomores in the country, Ja'Quan Newton.

That seems to be more problematic in Girls Hoops.....Of the 8 Boys teams this weekend, only 1 is a private school.
Chester,Lower Merion,Montour,Beaver Falls, Constitution are all public. Imhotep Charter and Lincoln Park CHarter are publicly funded Charter schools, and St. John Neumann-Goretti is the only Private school playing this weekend.

Is that supposed to diminish the public vs private argument? Because it changes nothing. And on the girls side, 8 out of 8 is friggin' ridiculous!

You must count different than most, I really don't care that the charter schools are publicly funded or not. They are recruiting schools plain and simple. Charter schools are equal to privates in my book.So I say 3 of the 8 are private. It is really sad that alot of them(privates) sit in A and AA classes!

I just read on PennLive that the York Catholic girls team has a 6'1 freshman on their roster who is a transfer from Johnstown. I'm sure that her entire family probably moved to York with her too I'm sure.

LOL, you honestly think the family doesn't live in York? They probably just moved there, and she goes to school there.

I can't put a charter school in some guy's basement with 12 kids with half of them not being able to read in the same sentence as a Catholic school, especially NON-Philly Catholic schools. PCL flat out recruits, won't get me to say any differently. But so do the Public and Charter schools.....D12 is 1 School District encompassing the entire City of Philadelphia. All the Public Schools,Charter, and Catholic schools are competing for kids. There are more kids in D12, than all of Allegheny County to put that in perspective. So if Allegheny County assimilated into one School District...You don't think Gateway(who already recruits) would try to get the best Football team available? You don't think Chartiers Valley(who already recruits) would try to assemble a top notch Basketball team? I think District 12 is more of a problem than people realize. But thats just my opinion.
