With the way Bedard has been lately, I would deal him for whatever I could get or DFA him. The guys at AAA will out perform him at this point. His lack of competitiveness is what has always held him back.

I've been in favor of DFA Bedard for a week or so now, and bring up Owens or Locke.

Listened to a talk show where they advocated the Bucco's going after Felix Hernandez.

Would probably cost two 'A' prospects and at least one 'B+' prospects.

Opinions?

I also heard the name Justin Upton being thrown around on MLB radio this morning. Marte, Cutch, and Upton for the next 5 years would be nice. Upton has basically the same deal as McCutchen.

Read Pirates are interested in Victorino and Quentin, both would be rentals, but both would be relatively cheap. Take a hitter like Grossman/Polanco and a pitcher not named Cole, Taillon, or Heredia.

I dont think the pirates should make a move just because everyone thinks they should. The names that keep being menrioned are just not worth the pirates top prospects imo. Upton has 7 homers and 30+ rbis. I know he has potential but i wouldnt give up my top prospects for him or for all the othee guys mentioned. Do we really want to give up a top of the rotation prospect for carlos quentin?

Afetr watching the mlbtraderumors site for 2 weeks now, I've came to a conclusion...How do you get a 50-80k job working for these folks writing fiction? These guys are a bunch of monkeys in a room throwing crap at the wall and waiting for something to stick. Everytime a report comes out with a name, they attach the top 4 teams in each league to it and call it a story.

Agree. It's the same rumors day after day. I'm still hoping the Bucs make a deal for Upton. His numbers this year aren't great but a change of scenery is what he needs. I think Cutch could be a good influence on him as well.
