I was actually at that first game, and it was all CC in the first half, but they shot exceptionally well. Ambrisco is a good player, but McCort switched defenders on him and he was flat out gassed by the fourth quarter. It's easier to isolate a shooter than it is a player like Trexler, who can beat you in a variety of ways, and I think McCort's supporting cast is better personally.

I would think Tyrone's ability have another scored outside of Gripp will win the day for them when it counts the most. Central/Bald Eagle have some nice wins this year as well. I also agree that there aren't many 'gimme' games in this AA bracket. 6 - 8 good teams but not great teams. I expect very little from District 6 AA when state playoffs roll around.
I agree with most of that.
Tyrone and Penns Valley are always tough, and it seems like Gripp and Miller can lead them there, and Penns Valley's defense will frustrate Blairsville.
Richland could beat Penns Valley, too. Richland is what you would say disinterested, but still athletic and skilled. Flick is a tough match, Shaffer knows how to play, and their other starters can knock down shots. Their bench is limited.
Blairsville is a relative unknown, I will say they played very hard last year as a 14 seed, and they really scared Bellwood. They are a year older, so maybe that will translate.
McCort may seem like a one man team, but I think they are better than some realize. Carroll took them completely off their game, and in the district I feel only Carroll and the AAAA teams would be able to pull that off. Neiderhiser is a nice player. (Division 1 Baseball player, 6-1 180 and very athletic, averages 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists) and Ingram has played well for the most part, too. I think Carroll just really put a number on them, but Carroll pretty much does that to everyone.
And I definitely agree, D6AA may have trouble in states. GCC, Seton LaSalle,Beaver Falls,Aliquippa, and Quaker Valley all appear to be really good, and of course Jeannette and others are still respectable. It could come down to match-ups, too. Sometimes you get lucky like McCort did last year and play a Burrell team that they beat by 20+.
Realistically, Richland, McCort, BEA, Tyrone, Central, Penns Valley, and Blairsville could win it, and that's in no particular order. I don't think anyone else could, and realistically Bishop Carroll is probably AT LEAST 15 points better than any of the AA teams. So with any of those 7 being able to beat one another makes for a very exciting tournament.
Should be fun these next few weeks. Thanks for the feedback.

Hollidaysburg makes the most sense, Richland being the top seed may luck out and get the game in Ebensburg.
