I agree the drafting is the biggest problem. You can't draft one or two effective players every draft and you can't continue to miss on most of your top 3 picks every year.

Tomlin was a good coach when Cowher's players weren't too old...

At least Tomlin could win with "Cowher"'s players.

How do the Steelers get more "Cowher" players.

Or perhaps they should get some Coughlin players. Or Belichik players.

Yeah I don't buy the "Coach's players" in the NFL. It's not college, they don't recruit them. They have just had some awful drafts lately. They can manage to get some good players, but this defense isn't the same. This line they built up isn't as good as they think it is. Bell and Brown are great, Ben is still good enough. They are wasting Ben's early 30's with the past two years and this year looks no better

That they were counting on Troy Polamalu and Ike Taylor and then had to go out and resurrect Brett Kiesel and James Harrison should have been all the proof that was needed that this team wasn't going to be very good. If Steve McClendon is out for any length of time will they look to bring back Casey Hampton?

The sad thing is that somehow they are 3-3. That tells me that for as bad as the Steelers are, the NFL as a whole, is a lot worse.

I think the Steelers are going to be fine. They are still ranked in the top ten in all offensive categories and are the second best rushing team. The defense is going to get better as people come back from injuries. A lot of the starters are still young and starting for either their first or second season so they will continue to get better. They just need to get more consistent. It may take at least another season but I wouldn't be surprised to see them make a late season push.

They should go back to wearing the throwback uni's full time, like when they used to stink every year. Maybe someone can clone Chuck Noll.

At least they have went 8-8 the last few season. Most teams go threw a couple losing seasons when they are rebuilding. Even Cowher had some losing season when he was rebuilding the team. The expectations were way to high for this season and the last few seasons.
