Bishop McCort defeated Johnstown 64-44 to win the Windber Rotary Tournament. McCort really opened the game up in the second quarter and cruised on in from there. I was a little disappointed in Johnstown overall, they could really struggle this season. McCort is a team I envision will hit their stride and become a pretty good team later in the season.

The McCort girls defeated Greensburg-Salem 58-22 in the first round of the Indiana tournament. They are 8-0 now and play Indiana today.

I agree completely Crimson. McCort is one of those teams that not all people realized could be a force. I think they're probably starting to realize now though

The BG Tournament was by far the best holiday tournament for girls basketball.  There were four fantastic games played in that gym over the last two days.  Tyrone is FOR REAL!  Believe it!  Engle put on a display second to NO "big name" players! I think you will see them with McCort in the the AA finals. Delone Catholic never disappoints and always comes with toughness and discipline. That team is a true team powerhouse. Everyone thought Blairsville was down this year... not so fast.  Two solid games played by their young and inexperienced team.  Their overall play was impressive.  BG is suffering from injuries, but still had their core....I honestly thought they were actually the less impressive TEAM of the four.  I love watching these games every year.  I think Tyrone replacing United made this tournament the very best for girls basketball in the area.

Central girls tournament would have been very good as well had Tyrone not pulled out.
