The Portage girls again head to the Ligonier Holiday Tournament which will be played on Monday the 28th and Tuesday the 29th.  Portage vs. Jeannette (12/28 @ 3:00 p.m.) and Derry Area vs. Ligonier in round 1.

Saltsburg boys play in the Apollo-Ridge Christmas tournament this coming Monday and Tuesday. Saltsburg will face Harvest Baptist Academy at 4:30 pm in the first semifinal and Leechburg takes on host Apollo-Ridge in the second semifinal at 7:30 pm in the second semifinal game. Both semifinal games are this coming Monday. The winner of the Monday semifinal games will play in the Championship game of the Christmas tournament this coming Tuesday.

I thought the Portage-Penns Manor game was very good. The reffing was ok at best and very inconsistent, but both teams showed they could play through physicality and foul trouble. I believe Penns Manor was up 11 in the 2nd quarter but Portage came back with a big run to take a double digit lead in the second half. Penns Manor made another run late to make it close but Portage won it at the foul line. Very exciting game to be at and great game to both teams!
