Heard he is working second team QB for the time being. I'm sure he'll be involved.youngbuck wrote:Where is the Bair kid on the BM depth chart?
Gotta give the home team some love. They'll fit in somewhere. But I do think the rest is close. I think Heights is going to be a sleeper for most this year.Manfred wrote:What flavor koolaid are you drinking?
He is backing up Walters in the backfield and playing linebacker on defense.Crimson's Ghost wrote:Heard he is working second team QB for the time being. I'm sure he'll be involved.youngbuck wrote:Where is the Bair kid on the BM depth chart?
Unless they're significantly better with Barber at QB, I would move them below McCort, Heights, and maybe Forest HillsSPORTSGURU814 wrote:Saw scrimmage today I'm looking at Jtown 6-4 or 7-3
I agree with your assessment of section I with the possible upset of maybe BC being better than PC this year if BC is healthy. PC lost a lot and is in transition and BC looks to be a bit stronger than they have been of late (maybe I just like the under dog). BG could be a contender in AA, AAA as well as the favorite in A this year.Crimson's Ghost wrote:Since we have threads going for some other conferences, might as well start one for the LHAC.
Picks
Section I
1. Bishop Guilfoyle - Some new faces, but still a lot of experience of off last year's state title team. Could win a 4th straight state title this year.
2. Forest Hills - Aftre three straight 5-6 seasons, I think the Rangers take the next step and become a factor in the D6-AAA race behind Cecere and Long, the best QB-WR duo in the league.
3. Cambria Heights - After starting 0-4 last year, Heights showed improvement down the stretch. They only lost 5 seniors from last year's team, they should continue to get better.
4. Central Cambria - New face at head coach with Shane McGregor. They have a long way to go to improve on their 1-9 year last season, but having an experienced quarterback in Justin Bezek should help.
5. Penn Cambria - Legendary coach John Franco is in charge now, and he'll be tasked with almost a total rebuild. They lose a lot of key players from a team that went 4-6 last year.
6. Bishop Carroll - Huskies also have a new coach in Sean Billings. He'll be up against it numbers wise, with just 29 kids out for football. BC hasn't won a game since 2014, and are in the midst of 1-29 stretch over the past three years.
Section II
1. Johnstown - The Trojans had a banner year with a AAAA sub-region championship and advanced to the state quarterfinals. They return versatile quarterback Austin Barber to lead the offense, and wrecking ball nose tackle Shamar Jones to anchor the defense.
2. Bishop McCort - McCort's rushing attack should be among the best in the conference and district with veterans Anthony Walters and Carnell Andrews leading the way.
3. Westmont - Westmont is coming off back to back 7 win seasons. Pat Barron has done a really nice job turning Westmont into a consistent playoff contender. Camden Moors is a really good running back that will have a big year.
4. Bedford - The Bisons return Davis Kline at QB off a 6-6 team last year. They'll have their fair share of new starters, but they'll be a solid football team.
5. Richland - I think Richland will win more than 3 football game this season. The Rams were young last year and return a lot of promising young talent.
6. Somerset - The Golden Eagles may be picked last in Section II, but they won't be a pushover, they have some good athletes including Ryan Funa.
