2017 LHAC Picks
Since we have threads going for some other conferences, might as well start one for the LHAC.
Picks
Section I
1. Bishop Guilfoyle - Some new faces, but still a lot of experience of off last year's state title team. Could win a 4th straight state title this year.
2. Forest Hills - Aftre three straight 5-6 seasons, I think the Rangers take the next step and become a factor in the D6-AAA race behind Cecere and Long, the best QB-WR duo in the league.
3. Cambria Heights - After starting 0-4 last year, Heights showed improvement down the stretch. They only lost 5 seniors from last year's team, they should continue to get better.
4. Central Cambria - New face at head coach with Shane McGregor. They have a long way to go to improve on their 1-9 year last season, but having an experienced quarterback in Justin Bezek should help.
5. Penn Cambria - Legendary coach John Franco is in charge now, and he'll be tasked with almost a total rebuild. They lose a lot of key players from a team that went 4-6 last year.
6. Bishop Carroll - Huskies also have a new coach in Sean Billings. He'll be up against it numbers wise, with just 29 kids out for football. BC hasn't won a game since 2014, and are in the midst of 1-29 stretch over the past three years.
Section II
1. Johnstown - The Trojans had a banner year with a AAAA sub-region championship and advanced to the state quarterfinals. They return versatile quarterback Austin Barber to lead the offense, and wrecking ball nose tackle Shamar Jones to anchor the defense.
2. Bishop McCort - McCort's rushing attack should be among the best in the conference and district with veterans Anthony Walters and Carnell Andrews leading the way.
3. Westmont - Westmont is coming off back to back 7 win seasons. Pat Barron has done a really nice job turning Westmont into a consistent playoff contender. Camden Moors is a really good running back that will have a big year.
4. Bedford - The Bisons return Davis Kline at QB off a 6-6 team last year. They'll have their fair share of new starters, but they'll be a solid football team.
5. Richland - I think Richland will win more than 3 football game this season. The Rams were young last year and return a lot of promising young talent.
6. Somerset - The Golden Eagles may be picked last in Section II, but they won't be a pushover, they have some good athletes including Ryan Funa.

Re: 2017 LHAC Picks
I mean when you have a 6'2" 200lb senior RB transfer in for one year and yet another lineman you're bound to have some complaining.Awdhaemel wrote:I'll make this easy, BG by far best team in area again, wins LHAC and another D6 A title with ease, quit crying about recruits, open borders to all I say, BG makes 4th straight title run, deal with it. Nobody in state would even know football even existed in central pa if it wasn't for them the last 3 seasons. You should be thanking/applauding them for bringing attention to District 6 football rather than complaining and making excuses.
And pretty sure people have known about D6 football for the last several years. In fact I think D6 represented in the quarterfinals in 4 of the 6 classifications last year.
Central, Somerset, Johnstown, Richland, Bellwood, Tyrone, Ligonier Valley have all had some real nice teams the last 5-10 years, stop acting like we should throw down a red carpet for BG

The intent of this thread was to talk about LHAC football, the Heritage Conference thread was complaining about Bishop Guilfoyle if you wish to pick fights over there.

Re: 2017 LHAC Picks
How many games is Walters out for? Injury? Are rumors true that he is considering not playing due to wrestling? Where is the Bair kid on the BM depth chart?

Re: 2017 LHAC Picks
When did he get hurt? McCort posted a quick video of practice 2 days ago and he was participating.
Re: 2017 LHAC Picks
We all will see how hurt he is on Sat. when he goes over, under, around and through the Ranger D. Beast-mode.
It ain't over until it's over.

Re: 2017 LHAC Picks
Jones is the one that isn't playing because of wrestling, the other two are from my understanding. Andrews represented McCort at the LHAC media day the other day.
