i wanted to say about Army Navy game so i'm glad someone did say that. If we are talking about college football how about Texas/Texas Tech.....I mean they have a big A$$ fire down there thats what a rivalry is about....i also understand they burn cars and in Boston and thats just a waste

lets take it across the pond to marry ol' England for a great rivalry...Manchester United and Arsenal...tickets arent even available to the general public for this game thats how intense it is....u have to b on a 30 year waiting list just to have ur name put into a lottery to get a ticket! and the past 3 games have ended 2-2 tie, 1-1 (Man U won in a shootout), and 0-0...they play again this month...should be one for the ages

If you watched the UNC/Duke game the other night you noticed the #1 College Basketball moment in the last 25 years shown at halftime...
UNC-Duke is by far the best college rivalry. There is a lot more emotion on the basketball court that can be seen by viewers. Football players wear helmets and it's more of a team game than basketball.
When you watch College bball, one man lighting it up from downtown or an inside player stepping up a notch for an extra 5-7 rebounds can make a HUGE impact on the game. With UNC and Duke everything is personal...that's what makes it so great to watch. When Battier used to slap the floor back on defense he wasn't just showing off...he was trying to get inside the heads of the heels.
Or last year when one of Duke's Assistant coaches refused to shake hands with Doherty...
This is the most heated rival in all sports...you won't find a better game anywhere!

Duke/ UNC is the best rival in sports, especially in college. Students of these two schools live for the games. they camp out, party hard and get crazy. I would love to see one of these matchups some time.

its really easy to say that unc/duke is the best rivalry right now. they just played a great game this past weekend and we are in the heart of ncaa basketball's march madness. if this question were posed in late october, i think most ppl would think of the yankees/red sox.

I would say my rankings for rivalries all-sports would go:
1) OSU/Michigan college football. NO basketball game can match the intensity of a football game, none, don't try to convince me otherwise. Once per year, 100 years of history, it doesn't get any better than these 2 locking horns on the gridiron. One time per year, for all the marbels, people lose their jobs if they can't win this one.
2) Yankees/Red Sox pro baseball. These teams will do anything to 1-up the other and when people are paying $300 for spring training tickets to a game, you know it's serious.
3) Duke/UNC college basketball. You know why if you watched Sat. Night's game.
4) Army/Navy college football. If they don't win another game the rest of the year, they are happy if they win this one. It is heated and goes back a long, long, long time.
5) Steelers/Browns pro football. These 2 cities hate eachother, bottom line, biggest rivalry in the NFL.

You don't know alot about sports then obviously. If you know any true OSU/Michigan fans or have seen the stadium prior and during the game, it is like nothing else. Duke/UNC can't even sniff it.

calm down sports999... no one ever said it's not a good rivialry and everyone else is entitled to their own opinions. Tell me this... how many people sleep outside in tents days prior to the OSU/Michigan game... no matter what the weather is like??
