Re: WEEK 2 Scrimmages

I didn't mean to make any of that sound like I was downplaying Ridge's performance. It was a scrimmage, and in scrimmages you concentrate your own flaws. Maceno did a nice job at QB. Wilson will be the starter as he was last year and Maceno will go back to reciever when we start next week. That was a good scrimmage for Tyrone. Got a look at a good team that wasn't intimidated and brought it. Matter of fact the Lions out hit us for the better part of the night. We had positives, Tate and Ralph still proved to be unblockable, short of using landmines. Mertiff had well over 100 yds on less than 10 carries in his first real action since knee surgery after the Slippery Rock game. And Maceno led the Offense inside red zone 4 times against a good defense. The attitude and sloppiness is the biggest problem I had with our guys. We'll see Ridge again, they're a tough team and I expect them to make the top 4 in 5/6; maybe next time it'll be at our place or on the rug.

Tate and Ralf did alright but from what I saw Ridge did a better job running between the tackles than Tyrone did but they need to defend the pass better. Tyrones QB did a real nice job.

Been away for awhile(building a house, farming, and expanding the family all this summer!) but with football season starting I'll dive in here.

Tyrone/CR scrimmage was a good one. Very impressed with the little backup QB from Tyrone. Mertiff ran tough as usual. Tyrone looked slow up front but Tate and VanAllman are big and physical.

Ridge was very intense and flew to the football. Secondary and coverages weren't up to par. But besides that a great effort against a top 5 ranked team!

Eagle: maybe Ridge is better than you thought up front. Miller and Fitz are very good just haven't gotten the press of Tate and VanAllman! And I thought I saw Tyrone in a 50 front defense a few times.

I agree with HOGG, Tyrone didn't move the ball between the Tackles against CR's first D!
