If you read this site, its Bedford County bias.
I highly suggest Somerset County folk establish their own website.
Oh by the way Districts Duals are at Chesnut Ridge this year so park your car over in Somerset County that way your tire won't get slashed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
haha, I know I never go to Ridge anymore in my vehicle.
If you highly suggest that Somerset County folk establish thier own site, step up, take the role. Better yet, if you don't like the way this site is looking now with the "Bedford County bias", bring some of your Somerset County friends here and start talking what your county has to offer. It's no surprise that the majority of the posters on this site who frequent it are from Bedford, Chestnut Ridge, Everett, or Northern Bedford. Sorry we don't like to get into things that we either don't know much about, or care to talk about...

24-1 what are you missing?
1. try being humble, nobody at states cares what your record will be
2. competition, you may think that d5 is tough, in reality it isn't

District 5 is top heavy, it's tough at the top and easy at the bottom. It is in no way a pushover, but not nearly as good as D-6. Humbleness is hard to come by from people through the tunnel.

please keep things in perpective, if conemaugh twp., berlin, and n.s. combined they then would have the enrollment of a forest hills, tyrone or chestnut ridge.we are just little schools with farm boy wrestlers trying to keep up with the big boys.

dragonfanz: i am assuming then that you believe d-6 competition is weak too because n.s. has beaten every d-6 team it wrestled the last two years. the only one it hasn't is tyrone because they don't wrestle them. i wish the two schools could work out their schedules in the future so it could become reality. both schools would benefit from the competition

Wrasslerfan,
What i should have said is this; overall d5 is not a great wrestling district. Here is one reason why, the 3-5 seeds in the d5 dual tourney have all been beaten by at least one team in d6 that didn't even sniff making d6 duals. You have 1 or maybe 2 decent teams in d5 every year. I understand that North Star has beaten d6 teams, have they beaten the best d6 teams every year? This is a serious question and hope you can post some scores. Overall, i think that d6 is better team wise and individually, only time will tell how the individuals will do.

yes, all of them except tyrone, that includes all the cambria's, united and forest hills. n.s. just beat united 54-20 and had to give a forfeit at one weight

Wrasslerfan,
Here are some alarming stats that shows how much better d6 is compared to d5.
Last year at the state tournament (really the only tournament that counts)
D5 had 9 participants and that was from 4 schools
3-North Star
2-Hyndman
2-Berlin
1 each from Everett and Meyersdale
D6 had 29 participants and i didn't total up from the schools
Now, D5 had 5 placewinners, D6 had 12 placewinners.
Correct me if i'm wrong, but d5 and d6 are in the same region. Where are the d5 kids at the end of the year?

Why does this argument come up every year? I hate that D5 fans think that we even compare to D6. As I've said before, I think D5 should be disbanded and something done like: Som Co to D7, Bed Co to D6, and Fulton Co to D3 or the whole D5 to D6. Sure we produce some great atheletes/wrestlers for our size, but that is just the thing...we are too small! Sure you can leave D5 as is and feel all proud when you win district titles and this and that, but you earn little respect from people outside the district. Why not go to another district and go for the title.

District 6 is already huge...maybe some D6 schools should join D5 to even the numbers and the power out a little....I believe that's even been discussed (somewhere, somehow) in the past....
