Pittsburgh Post Gazette Saturday April 22: The Pitt-Penn State Golf Challenge will take place this year on June 6th at Chestnut Ridge near Blairsville. This charitable event will pit former Pitt players against former players from Penn State. Two organizations for disadvantaged youth will benefit: The Second Mile, founded by former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky, and The National Youth Sports Program administered by the University of Pittsburgh. This years captains will be Shane Conlan and Mike Zordich for the Nittany Lions, and Tony Dorsett and Bill Fralic for the Panthers. Last years event raised almost $100,000. Notice the LACK of corporate sponsors. Now THAT'S how you run a charity benefit.... By the way, when asked about the Pitt-Penn State football series, Jerry Sandusky replied, "It would be really neat if we could get this game going again".

None of us fans on here disagree with the game from a "football" standpoint. But as far as smart business, Penn State is doing the right thing.

Also, don't get too caught-up in your own lies about Dorsett. He was on one of the teams, he just didn't play.

Also, not one of you spoke ill of Walt Harris when he was coaching at Pitt. The Yellow Streak himself ran your coach out of town and now all of a sudden Walt Harris sucks. Get your story straight.

Walt Harris' own agent drove the final nail in his Pittsburgh coffin, not Dorsett. You need to get your story straight.

In fact, that agent gave Harris such a bad rep, that Harris fired him prior to signing with Stanford.

So if Dorsett plays in this game and re-injures his knee and is unable to walk for quite some time. Then after surgery, he can walk but with a very noticeable limp and great pain the rest of his life.

This would inhibit his ability to be at the rest of his charitable functions that he does yearly.

Unlike Novacek, Dorsett is a College and Pro Hall of Famer. he has nothing to prove.

Wow, now we're diminishing Jay Novachek at the expense of making Dorsett look better. Nevermind the fact that Jay Novacheck was the best tight-end in pro football for about 5 or 6 years straight, not to mention blocked during those years for the guy who has the NFL rushing record. Also: Jay Novachek was out there having a good time for charity, unlike Tony Dorsett, who was too good to even go out there one last time with his old teammates in a FLAG-FOOTBALL game. It was not full-contact, Double H. Hey, I'm not the one who called him a coward on the radio, one of his teammates did. I mean, here's a guy, the Coward of the County, Master of Basketweaving Science, Hopewell's own Yellow Streak, supposed Heisman winner, ran your coach out of town when he championed Operation Dumbo Drop, and now too good for charity, but still can do no wrong. Actually I saw a highlight of Dorsett's "miraculous" 99 yard run on TV tonight. Notice the poor performance of the Vikings defense, which was the 2nd teamers since the game was out of hand thanks to Staubach, the kind of hero who comes out of retirement to help his fellow man in any way he can.

Are you sure it was Harris's agent, or was it more that he was out gallavanting all over the city with some "other woman"? Maybe he fired his agent because he already found a job and didnt need an agent anymore.

I am done arguing with you about Dorsett. His charity work speaks for itself. You diminishing that because he did not compete in a flag football game is crazy.

To question his football ability, erases what little credibility you have left. He is one of the greatest running backs in college and pro football history. You are a wannabe journalist who pushes opinion instead of fact.

You could probably get hired by Blue and White Illustrated.

To be a wannabe journalist, you have to be trying to be a journalist. Besides, there's thousands of journalists who push opinion instead of fact, which leads me to believe you read even less than I thought, which in itself is an accomplishment, Double H.

Hey, I have an idea. Let's start a charity on Bleacher Coaches. It can be the "Wounded Knee Foundation" and all the money will go to help Tony Dorsett's poor leg so he can walk again after that gut-wrenching display of courage he exhibited on the field this past week for charity. Man, what a hero. Way better than Aikman or Staubach. God bless ya, Yellow Streak.

Since we aren't privy to all that entertainment in Dallas, which team won the QB Bowl and what charity got the monetary benefit?

The winning team was the team full of unselfish heroes. Actually everyone who played is an unselfish hero, unlike that loser jabroni Tony Dorsett. I looked up why Dorsett didn't go to Penn State instead of Pitt, and here's the quote: "I like Penn State, but I have a problem with their uniforms. I really like how Pitt is yellow, since that's the color I've been my whole life."

Since it has been determined that sports all all about how you finish and not how you start, it's safe to say that Dorsett is a huge coward, since he finished his career wimpering on the field for the Broncos and then further illustrated his cowardice by refusing to help a charity with his Cowboy teammates. He may have STARTED his career strong, but he FINISHED by hiding behind excuses.

We wouldn't want The Yellow Streak to injure his knee so he couldn't go golfing with Shane Conlan. Maybe we'll get lucky and Conlan will give him a big shoulderblock and put that feeble old man out of his misery.

Staubach's team won but I forget what charity it was for. It's a charity Staubach sponsors.

Maybe Tony donates all his chicken sauce money to charity? That must be at least $50.00 per year.

His face lift looks a little better then Gambler Kenny though.
