This columnist nails it regarding Paterno:

What does everyone think of the "riots" or the "rallies" last night?

For the most part PSU fans are levelheaded, but last night the rally was a really, really dumb idea. Chanting "lets beat Nebraska" "Hell No Joe won't Go" ect ect....Made the PSU students look really dumb, and I heard them be referred to idiots and sheep for following the crowd.

I understand that many PSU students are upset because the actions of a few portray the whole school, which it doesn't. PSU is a great place and does so much for the community. It is more than a Football team, but when you have people making Joe out to be a saint that is wrong.

WJAC's coverage last night made me sick. Maisel stood in front of the mob like it was the Friday Football Final. Every one of their stories showed Joe getting support and made him look like the good guy. It was disgusting.

One thing the gatherings of last night did show is the university and police will have their hands full if they decide to fire paterno.

Crimson - If you're trying to say our coverage was in anyway biased, I take exception. I think your issue is with the Penn State's treatment of Paterno. On Tuesday night, I was told to report on what I saw around me, and that is what I did. Actually, that is what we did throughout the week and never once did I interject my opinion. And trust me, that's tough when people are telling you to "F" off and throwing bottles at you. Far from fun, and nothing like a Friday Football Final.

National media types are now also referring to PSU football as a "cult".
