Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
McCort and Penns Manor should be an awesome opening round matchup. Two teams that undoubtedly can win it all in D6 A. Heritage people out there, what kind of line does PM have? Looked at their roster and saw the biggest kid was 6'1 260. This game could come down to the trenches, and McCort has a very good line when they play to their full potential. McCort is without a doubt the best passing game PM has seen all year. Chance for Danny Ferens to exact some revenge from his freshman year when PM came to The Point and got pounded, but that was a much different McCort team. McCort has been a Jekyll and Hyde type of team though for much of the season knocked off a playoff bound Forest Hills team week 2, played Richland as tough (along with Bellwood) as anyone has all year, pounded a very very good Bishop Guilfoyle team. But also have that very bad loss at Somerset, lost to CH because of missed extra points and the inability to move the ball, and looked flat out bad for the first 20 minutes or so of the CC game last night. Regardless should be a fun one, and the winner has an awesome chance at taking the district.

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
Penns Manor totally shut down Ligonier and their big offensive line, so I think their line is pretty good. Outside of Blairsville no one throws it in the Heritage, so pass defense could be an issue for them.
I would think McCort wins by 14 or 21.

14-21? Even I don't think McCort can win by that much lol, I think either way it'll be a close one.

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
You might want to hold off on the breakdown of the PM/McCort game. I just spoke to a coach who is involved in the 6A playoffs and he told me there will be a coin flip tomorrow morning in Altoona to decide whether PM or JV is the 3rd of 4th seed (they are tied in points). If JV wins the coin toss they will draw BM instead of BG. I know the Altoona Mirror had it as JV vs. BG and PM vs. BM but they have now since changed their on-line addition to say that JV will play BG or BM.
The interesting question is if your are PM/JV do you want to win or lose that coin toss? I will say this is one of the most interesting years in 6A that I can recall. It should be a lot of fun for everyone, especially the fans.

I did spot 2 JV coaches at the McCort game last night.

That's interesting. I know an assistant coach at JV. They are under the impression that they own that tiebreaker.

Mccort. They are the better team of the two but I wouldn't want Bellwood on the road in the semi finals
Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
Don't have a horse in the race, but I don't see how it can be tied:
Tiebreaker 1 = Head to head, didn't play
Tiebreaker 2 = Common opponents, none
Tiebreaker 3 = Opponents win pct.
Juniata Valley
SH 0-10, MU 2-8, CK 4-6, BA 9-1, MV 5-5, WB 2-8, TM 5-5, G 5-4, WB 5-5, H 1-9
Total = 38-61
If Glendale wins, 39%
Penns Manor
NC 7-3, CV 3-7, S 3-7, U 0-10, MC 3-7, B 6-4, LV 9-1, PL 2-8, HC 6-4, K 2-8
Total = 41-59
41%

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
Even if you take away teams they lost to, nc and ba, Penns manor still has third tie break

Re: D6 Playoff Scenarios/Rundown
Indiana gazette proclaimed Penns manor as 3 seed to play mccort. They also stopped a passing team last night having 6 interceptions. A really good sign because pass defense was a worry, still is but reassured now its not terrible. As for their line jack its extremely underrated and was why they beat lv this year and did so well last year. Can not win d6 without a great line both ways. We can all agree with that fact
