To concur with Jack, look at most of the best players McCort has had recently.
2006- Barbin, Lewis, DeFrances, Seidel
2007-Varga, DeFrances, Sheridan
2008- Lowery, Domonkos, Seidel
2009- Seidel, Domonkos, Belskey, Pioli, Moot
2010- Leech, Cooper, Spangler, Varga, Belskey, Barbin, James
2011- Leech, Cooper, Spangler, Varga, Belskey, Barbin, James
2012- Jackson, Belskey, James, Tomkowski, DiFrancesco, Spangler, Barbin, Roman, Leech, Burgo
They all went to parochial schools. McCort's success has GREATLY been due to the Parochial system

Lol, Actually both these schools are Single A, Clairton obvioulsy but so is Aliquippa and Jeannette the last few cycles, but the latter 2 "refuse" to play A ball until they can't "compete" or literally until thier school closes due to economics...This is always a debate who would have won the last few years in A, Clairton or quippa?

As I have said before As a WPIAL person I would enjoy D-5 in a victory... I still say and again in previous post have said 2007 should have been the year D-5 won. North Star I think should not have passed so late and gave the game to Serra, I am not convinced it will happen this year or the next, but are there any junior-sophmore laden teams doing good or had a good record this year in D-5...Once Clairton runs out of gas the next WPIAL champion for a few years should be human again. As mentioned before a team like Monessen, maybe the newly formed Imani Christian should be good but I don't think anything like Clairton...unless Jeannette or Quippa decide to play were their population is.

Look at this year's team. Who are the main contributors? Belskey, Tomkowski, Jackson, Spangler, DiFrancesco, James, Leech, Barbin, Roman, what do they all have in common? They all went to a Parochial School. As Crimson said, the Parochial League still produces better talent than most D5/6 schools.
That might have topped when I told Konjo a while back that he had one of the dumbest comments I ever saw. Sorry Konjo. You now have the dumbest comment. Parochial schools "DO NOT" let me say this again "DO NOT" produce better talent. Public schools produce talent. Public football programs from age 5 in flag football all the way through Jr. High. You have the better talent come into your school. In no way shape or form do they "produce" the better talent. That is an ignorant statement if I have ever seen one. Is the coaching superior at Parochial schools to "produce" better talent from average players compared to public schools? I'd think not. Instead of picking the fruit of one tree, you go out and pick the better fruit of the forest. C'MON MAN!!!

All you really did is list the best players on each of those teams that attended Parochial School. It's amusing to look at the McCort program each of the last few years and see what Parish each player attended....You'll see that there is a fair share of Shiloh Baptist's, Fountain of Life, Greater Johnstown Christian Fellowship, Faith United Methodist, Ligonier United Methodist, etc....I'm sure the list of players that didn't go to parochial school is just as impressive as the list of players who did.

P.S....I noticed the McCort 9th graders were 2-5 this year. When does this year's recruiting season begin?

No, when i think of McCort over the years I usually think of one dominant playmaker along with a lot of other good players doing their job. But that one dominant player has usually come out of mccort's parochial system

I will give you LaRue in 2010 and Wilson in 2011 but even then the "recruiting" is just a statement with no basis of facts.

McCort parochial kids will NEVER get the respect the deserve. I've learned to understand that.

But in that listing of Churches you named, that does not mean that did not attend a parochial grade school.

I look at Bishop McCort I counted 9 starters on offense from Our Mother of Sorrows School. Not a bad run for my grade school alma mater.

Don't forget about all 3 Rugg's, Chaz Merriman, Isa Wadley, and I'm sure there are more that I'm missing.
