It's time to tighten the purse strings. If playing at CC is cheaper than playing at St. Francis, you play at CC. Heck, I remember when some playoff games were played at an elementary school's gym!

District band and chorus are held in high school auditoriums.

Why do athletes DESERVE to play their championships in college gymnasiums?

You can make more money at SFU. More seats. Better, bigger, nicer venue for fans, media, and players. What does a district band meet look like? Ie it a packed house, covered by tv, radio, and newspapers? I'm not being sarcastic, I really don't know. Does it cost money to attend?

The key word is DESERVE. An athlete should be just as satisfied playing for a district championship at Ferndale's gym as St. Francis.

Bishop McCort's auditorium was packed for an honors elementary band concert last spring.

Don't those playing for the WPIAL Quad A football championship DESERVE to play on a better surface than Heinz Field after three other games in two days?

The thrill or playing at Heinz Field.....does that not hold anything with you? The place where the Steelers play? So they should move the Penguin cup to Planet ice? These kids don't deserve a reward for a good season?

The baseball Districts should move from the Curve Stadium. Let them play in a vacant lot. They don't deserve to play there.

The reward is the championship. It shouldn't matter where it was won. The state hockey championship has been played at Planet Ice like venues.

Wasn't a district baseball final cut short due to time constraints once? A vacant lot would have allowed the game to be played until proper completion.
