Re: Bucco offseason
I just say something interesting and irritating at the same time. ALL MLB teams will have an extra 25-30 mil to spend with the new tv deal... The bucs have said numerous times they expect to expand payroll.... How much you wanna bet it's less than 25 mil! They remain the only mlb team to turn a profit every one of the last 20.... Appease the fans and increase profits. Just once could they be the Yankees and open the wallet?

Re: Bucco offseason
Depending on what A.J. does ( really hoping he comes back one more year) if not, I'd like to see the Buccos take a chance on Josh Johnson. I think he can have a bounce back year just like Francisco did this year. Johnson is too good of a pitcher to have a repeat performance of this past season in Toronto. I think they could get Johnson for cheap as well, and let Searge work his magic on him.

I have a hunch a trade will happen at the Winter Meetings that will excite the fan base.

Re: Bucco offseason
Pirate prospects website had a decent story, with a decent idea. They were proposing the thought of Justin Wilson joining the rotation. I like it. 96+ from a lefty! If they can stretch him out to maintain that for 6-7 innings, could be one of the top rotations in MLB

The SF Giants have offered 38 year old Tim Hudson a two year $23 million deal. AJ Burnett will be offered that or more by someone.

Re: Bucco offseason
Kris Johnson is the player dealt to get welker back. Also, looks like Johnson used Pittsburgh for leverage to get padres to bite on a contract... He previously made it known he wanted to go west(lives in Vegas).

Re: Bucco offseason
You are likely correct in the or more part. The Pirates will sign AJ in a heartbeat if they get that deal.knowitall wrote:The SF Giants have offered 38 year old Tim Hudson a two year $23 million deal. AJ Burnett will be offered that or more by someone.
