Congratz again to BGCHS, but some of you seem to have forgotten a Tyrone team from a few years back, that blazed the unused till now, trail. Best LHAC team ever? Whatever.

it is possible to not let them drop 52 on your team

how about some talk about how district 6 and a LHAC team was able to beat the almighty Clariton
props to the Bears on a record setting season but this game comes down to eleven high school age males against eleven high school males
To bad it took a private school to do it. That cheapens the state championship a ton for D6 IMO.

Manfred, was Tyrone a LHAC team then? I'm old enough to remember that 1999 team very well, I don't remember them having any affiliation with the LHAC at all. I always thought they were affiliated with the Mountain League or whatever it was called back in those days.

My bad. I overlooked the "LHAC" part, but they were the first from the overall area.

I disagree, Clairton was 2-3 Touchdown favorites, that's a nice win for BG because 99% of the state assumed Clairton would win.

No problem Manfred. I thought maybe I was wrong because I couldn't remember the league affiliations clear back to 1999. I do remember being thrilled for those guys in 1999 and that being one helluva team. I'm glad Distict 6 finally has another championship team to call our own.

Btw, completely agree Crimson. There is nothing that can cheapen what those young men accomplished yesterday.

Clairton lost that game because they didn't know what to do against BGs defense. Aside from the 2 long touchdowns, Clairton was not having an easy time moving the football. Their offensive line was consistently beat and forced to hold on almost every play which resulted in some HUGE holding penalties that completely derailed a couple Clairton drives. Clairton's quarterback kept them in this game with his scrambling ability. He consistently extended drives on long 3rd downs. BG just has has a group of kids with some balls that have had a bend but don't break attitude.

I would expect nothing less from people associated with the private schools to disagree with my statement. Im sure you will be saying its a great accomplishment if the BG girls win the state championship as well.
