I have to say I have my money on Chris Snyder too if he is running.(maybe a challenge by Ian Mitchell? who is rumored to be running). D6 should be dean, and teamwise, i got bedford taking d5 and d6 coming between McCort, Central Cambria, and Penns Valley. The PSU-Altoona invitational on the 23rd will be like a pre-district meet, where all these teams will see each other...I can't wait.

UPDATE:
Chris Snyder is running XC. He ran a 16:55 at the Gettysburg Invitational, and for that, I think he will easily win D5 by over a minute.

Yeah with a 16:55 this early and as hard a worker as Snyder is, I would expect him to be the D5 winner. Like you said XC Fiend, Saturday will be a good day to preview both district meets.

Glad to see Snyder running this year. His 16:55 at Gettysburg was rather impressive considering it's his first year in the sport. He should only get better. It will be interesting to see how he does on Saturday against guys like Dean, Spisak, Garver, and the 2 Somerset guys (Opp and Eddy) who seem to be running very well.

It should be an awesome race. Besides those you mentioned, Nathan Brown from Penns Valley, a couple kids from Baldwin, and also a kid from Virginia who was 8th in the state last year in a 16:16 will be added into the mix. Should be a simply awesome race.

My prediction:
Dean edges out Witt(kid from VA) in a fast race, in the low 16's if not below, and close behind those two, Spisak and Eddy will fight for third, followed closely by Garver and Snyder.

3. Wilt (Shade) saw him run last night at Somerset
4 and 5 Could be one of the following. Emerick, Gooden, Hampson, or Pauley

Of righhhht, I almost forgot all about Jeremiah Wilt. I like seeing all of these good runners finally coming out and running in D5, even though they dont have a team.

This post is a little late, but still on topic....Podlesnik leads his 6-2 Salisbury team in goals and assists....Guess he's just an all-around athlete...I think I heard he was all-county in basketball too...

New predictions for District V XC championship
Snyder
Wilt
Pauley or Gooden
Hampson
Mitchelle

My predictions are based on times run as of 10/04/06. Mitchells times have not been the greatest…. it will not surprise me if he does finish second or third place.
I’ll have a better idea after 10/11/06.
