Yeah I don't think Lombardozzi was brought in as a real competitor for a job. Just depth.

Who comes north will be interesting. The 7 mentioned come, that leaves the trio of cutch , polanco, &marte. If they keep Lambo too for another LH bat, then only 2 of the catchers come north. Honestly, if it were me , Cervelli and Diaz are the top 2 I'd bring.

Cervelli and Stewart are the two catchers. Will Tony Sanchez make the team? I don't think so.

They probably are the 2 that start the year, I just said if it were me. And mark my words Diaz will be there before August. Hopefully backing up a healthy and hot Cervelli.

My prediction of Opening Day roster:
1. Cutch
2. Marte
3. Polonco
4. Lambo
5. Pedro
6. Hart
7. Walker
8. Mercer
9. Harrison
10. Cervelli
11. Kang
12. Rodriguez
13. Stewart
14. AJ
15. Cole
16. Frankie
17. Worley
18. Locke
19. Malencon
20. Cameniro
21. Holdzkom
22. Hughes
23. Watson
24. Sadler
25. Bastardo

Final "cuts"
1. Sanchez
2. Cumpton
3. Lincoln
4. Pimentel
5. Tabata

After typing, that gives the Bucs a VERY SOLID staff:
1. Cole
2. Frankie
3. A.J.
4. Locke (just 2 years removed from an all star season, and very good 2nd half last year)
5. Worley (If he can produce like he did last season)

add to that Morton not long till he come off DL; there may be a lot of 2-1 Bucco wins this summer!

AND think of the staff 2 years from now:
1. Cole
2. Tallion
3. Glassnow
4. Frankie
5. Morton / Locke

number 17. If you're thinking of the staff 2 years form now, I think he's on a 1 year deal that will end at the end of 2015. I don't see them resigning him given what they have coming up.

History shows that both Cole and Glasnow are due for TJS within the next 3-5 years. I hope I'm wrong but nearly every young power arm requires this surgery now.

How ever did guys like Randy Johnson, Roger Clemens, Nolan Ryan, and lots of others survive their careers w/o TJS?

call me an old foggie, but my opinion, They probably weren't throwing screwballs 10 months a year when they were 9 years old. They played baseball for 3 months from ages 5-13/14 years old. Now kids are first, throwing pitches they shouldn't be at their age, and second throwing said pitches year round from the age of 6 or 7.
