Re: West-Pac
My point exactly. Why would power house Portage's players leave to go to a weaker program? You know there is a possibility that it could just be a catholic higg school and Catholic people want there kids to go there? Why just because it has Bishop in front of its name are they automatically considered a recruiting school? Its simple, weaker teams that aren't use to losing get out of there conference and look for excuses.

Idk if I consider bc a weaker program... What's the d6 title comparison between those schools. And BC has been known to recruit. The only one that hasnt it the one who wasn't won a d6 title. BG

Re: West-Pac
But with how good BG is this year what do you think people will start saying. I'm just saying don't put BC and BG in the same group and Bishop McCort. BG and BC deserve all they have gotten this year and I don't believe it was from recruiting.
Re: West-Pac
Go to the winter sports seasons...especially girls....I would say BG makes recruiting a priority!

It was the Mustang's Home Game, they lost out on ticket and concession revenue then would have had to pay for travel to go play someone else. I rest my case, unless someone was coming to Portage Stadium It wasn't gonna happen.youngbuck wrote:Portage also took a forfeit rather than travel and actually play someone.

We are talking about high school football, this is not professional football or someone's job. This is not a college where the revenue from football supports every other program.
As a high school player you have a certain number of games you get to play. Why should the players from Portage not been allowed to play as many games as any one else. Ask any single person who played football, yourself included. What would you give to play one more game. Just play ball. win or lose. Bellwood signed up to play the best AA school in the district. Tyrone is willing to take on a AAA school. Other teams in the westpac found games to play. Forget the money and how big of a deal the game is in Portage, yes sure I agree that they have a great enviroment, but remember every player on that team lost a chance to play one more game.

I'm going to pretend you didn't bring up girls sports in this football forum. And I agree with youngbuck 110%

These schools dont recruit.. Why risk being caught by the piaa they know better... However the athletes can ask other athletes to join them or parents can send them to that school, therefore they can draw from large areas and several districts which is a big advantage at A.
Re: West-Pac
So did Portage recruit the Kephart back form BC? If recruiting is such a terrible thing, why would the school allow him to come back.

That's like someone from westy who's parent works on scalp ave moving to richland for being closer to work or are you ready for this? The almight Berlin Moutianeers getting the cahills from township. Does that make berlin a recruiting school. Should they be look down on because of that.
