West-Pac
For all you people that call the West-Pac the Weak-Pac. The conference has the number one team in district 6A ( Portage) and 5A ( Berlin). Please also remember that many people on this site have said that district five is so weak ,but the only team to beat Portage this year was the number 1 team in district 5 Berlin. I really don't think that the West Pac or District 5 is as weak as people think.

Re: West-Pac
if D6 and D5 switched first round partners (wpial) D5 would have a few more first round wins. When you face the perennial State Champ or runner up every year it's a tough first round.

Re: West-Pac
Seeds mean nothing in playoffs. Usually just means bottom of conference are really bad teams and easy wins. 2hy heritage and portage are always so high
Re: West-Pac
Top seeds are great and all, but I'm with Konjo. They really do mean very little. The only seed that matters is the last team standing.

Respect is won by winning districts.. its nice to see two number one seeds from the same conference but I highly doubt this would be the scenario if either of them played in the ICCA or Lhac... Imo berlin will win in d 5...This is where respect is earned http://www.piaad6.org/D6%20alltime%20ch ... _hower.htm

Well I don't think anyone is claiming being a 1 or 2 seed is more important than a district title, idk where that's coming from, but to say it means nothing? Would you rather play on the road or at home? How many 5-8 seeds have won district titles? As far as the conference thing yes I would fully expect for it to be tougher to beat schools that double us in size but as far as A Conferences the Westpac isn't any worse than the other 2.Suckerfish wrote:Respect is won by winning districts.. its nice to see two number one seeds from the same conference but I highly doubt this would be the scenario if either of them played in the ICCA or Lhac... From recent history, minus Penns Manor in 2011. It doesn't matter. If you aren't a Catholic school or your name doesn't rhyme with Bellwood....your chances are slim

Re: West-Pac
Agreed. Now comes the time of the year where we all root for those teams to go down. Luckily one will have to go down next week if BA plays BC.12HankQB wrote:From recent history, minus Penns Manor in 2011. It doesn't matter. Call me crazy, but i believe Portage may have a chance at a d6 championship this year even though they'll probably have to beat both BG and BA to do it. I don't think they have a good chance, but they have the best from non bishops or Bellwood.

Re: West-Pac
Whoever wins this arguement can officially say they are the 2nd worst conference in the area. Congratualations. If Berlin were in the LHAC they would have 3 wins maybe not even that. Portage could hold their own with a couple teams. I give them 5 wins tops. As for the other teams I think they would have to ask ferndale what they do in November. As for the heritage, put HC in the ICC they would have been no where close to the record they have. Bottom line being, Both conferences are bad. If we didn't have them these teams wouldn't see to many wins and probably never see the playoffs.
