And they lost by double digits to homer center last year in the district championship game... So don't act like they've won it all. They are very good but so are a lot of teams! 1 bad game of turnovers and you'll lose in the playoffs no matter who. This is about the heritage conference, you know the conference with the most d6 titles since 2010???? So please unless you try and talk about this conferences talents just stay off it it and join d6sports101 in the "BG won everything already" club
Since 1998 21 current laurel highlands members have won district titles in district 6 from A to AAA so please don't come at me with this petty question of who won the most district titles since 2010. Everyone knows the laurel highlands is a great conference and probably better than the heritage. But as for me talking BG up so much is because it's well deserved they return a lot of great players from a team that barely let the title game get out of reach they're going to be very good deal with it!!

I agree they will be and I agree the lhac is good but its not what it once was. Is it better than the A conferences? Absolutely but I think the mountain league has passed them. I think BG has a wonderful shot of winning and would love to see it but one week has gone buy and anything can happen. All it takes is 1 key injury and any team can go from top team to barely making playoffs. No one will win a title until it is won...

Not in anyway trying to say the Heritage is the best conference, but I think it is a very solid conference. If you look at all the single a and aa district titles the teams that make up the Heritage won a lot of them in the 80's and 90's then fell off in the 2000's. Now I think it is starting to cycle back around in the 2010's and I believe the Heritage is going to be very competitive on the district level for a long time again.

1. LHAC
2. Mountain
3. Heritage
4. ICC
5. WestPac

I think that's how it is for this season. The LHAC is better than the Mountain, outside of Central, Tyrone, and Clearfield...those other six teams aren't too good. LHAC just seems better from top to bottom. The Heritage has been solid of late, definitely the best of the three predominantly single A conferences.

Im a heritage follower but I agree with crimson. Also tyrone, central and Clearfield are pretty darn good every year too.

Maybe I'm just nuts but it honestly seems like Danny Ferens really had an impact on the Heritage as a whole. Everyone had to elevate their game to play with the Comets the last few years and it seems like it's having an after effect somewhat.

I think part of it also was the Ligonier/Laurel merger, it presented a AA team on the schedule for everybody...another reason to step things up.

Agreed Crimson, and with teams like United's 2009 group, NC's 2012 group, and even Blairsville's '11 group, the Heritage has a lot to be proud of the last couple of years. That's not even counting PMs run of late, and HC's stellar season last year.

I will agree the Mountain League does not have the quality from top to bottom. I don't know that any of the other conferences would want Clearfield, Central, and Tyrone added to their schedules though. These conferences are more than about football though. Who volunteers to wrestle against Bald Eagle or Philipsburg. Or play softball against Bald Eagle or Bellefonte. It all depends on which kids you can get off the couch and out for the team.

The debates is always fun but the bottom line is this. You take the top teams since the state football playoffs started. You have Forest Hills of the Laurel Highlands and Tyrone of the Mountain League. And guess what...at the end of the day they have exactly the same amount of playoff wins. There is definitely parity in the area
