Re: Tribune All-Area Team 2008
A kid from BM makes first team all state, is being recruited ND, UPS, Pitt and more, as a junior & you make the statement "Put McCarty up against Rugg one on one and I would bet Rugg woul be laying on his back side......for no apparent reason other than you hate BM or need to feel better about yourself or something and I'm a fool??? And for the 3rd time, have you even seen BM play this year? ...."Well no but our 2nd string long-snapper is better than yours".....get a friggin' life dude!
I have to say thank you to me ..." for not being stupid enough to go to Penn State."

I did watch Rugg in the FH scrimmage and the kid did nothing at all to impress me. McCarty is the better linemanand has far more potential at the college level.
And I am sorry not everyone gets to play Laurel Valley and Portage in the playoffs. And that is not a diss to these schools, I think people will get my post.

OH MY BAD, YOU SAW HIM PLAY IN A SCRIMMAGE!
And you wish to rip schedules?? Let's be objective then, fh beat no one that was really good. ...barely beat a pedestrian Johnstown team @ home in OT And that is not a diss to these schools, I think people will get my post. lost to CC & lost to Central @ home! I think people will get my post

Vman, just because Rugg is getting looked at by ND and etc. does not make him better than McCarty. Greene is going to UConn, but McCarty absolutely destroyed him head to head. We all know recruiting has a lot to do with size and potential, McCarty being only 6'0" and from a school that has no recent D1 recruits or even D1-AA recruits hurts him. I witnessed Dave Mehall from FH absolutely destroy Wayne Jones in the D6 title game a few years back. Jones is now at Pitt, Mehall didn't go on to play college football. So whether or not Rugg is being recruited as a junior by ND and PSU really doesn't matter in terms of who's better. Rugg is an exceptional player I agree and I'd give the nod to McCarty head to head, but Rugg is only a junior. Needless to say neither of the two would be on there backside..
For your case of FH beating no one. Are you kidding Vman? How can you go 10-2 (9-1) in the Laurel Highlands and not beat anyone? This isn't the westpac. The Rangers steamrolled the same Rams twice who should've beaten your Crushers , blew out a BG team that had a good shot of winning against BM, and beat several other playoff teams. To say they didn't beat anyone is ridiculous. The only opponent BM beat that FH didn't was CC in the LH, so did BM only beat one good team?
Another thing I noticed is when people don't want to argue about something after making ridiculous remarks, they only quote sections of what you post and simply answer those questions... classic

A prime example of kids getting offers because of size and potential is the Minemyer kid who played for BC several years ago. The general consensus was that he was NOT the best player at his position among other teams in the area. Still, he got a full ride to Rutgers after his senior year. Colleges often take chances with players based on potential. Many times it does not pan out for the kid or the school.
