What's with all the honorable mentions. Again, it's like giving participation trophies in T-Ball.

I am just curious as to how the areas leading rusher and leading scorer is not the offensive player of the year, especially since his team won the district championship???

Nothing against Newton at all, he had a great year

I just dont understand how a team with a losing record can get player of the year.

Maybe I am way off in this, but even more mysterious is making the areas leading rusher and scorer not even on the offensive squad.

Any insight on this my ears are open

I don't understand... SOMEBODY HELP ME!!! The Ramblers lost by 48 to the team that the Southern Cambria/Westmoreland/Indiana/Somerset County All-Stars throttled. This should count for something in the Coach of the Year ballots. Go Kenny!

If I ran my grandmother from Wisconsin 350+ times and not including N. Star or Portage
got all my yardage in basically a "flag " football conference then, yes, I guess she would be
the leading rusher/scorer in the area if she wanted to be!

9 westpac players and a westpac coach of the year? You have gotta be kidding? What a perfect example of selector bias. The main selectors are all westpac alumni-- Mastovich - Conemaugh Valley, Knopsnyder - North Star and Eisinborg - Ferndale.

The westpac is pitiful competition. Like playing LHAC JV or WPIAL 8th - 9th grade ball. To select 9 westpac kids is ridiculous. Made this team a joke. But I guess we have to consider the source.

Okay.. so you look at Windbers below average offensive line. And there below average blocking. And windbers below average everything. and you throw a kid in the game that has to carry the ball 30 plus times in a game for windber to even stay in the game. You'd expect for windber to win that he'd have to carry the ball that many times. Then so be it the kid had 340 some carries and played in the west pac. so what it wasnt his fault the people calling the plays called his # that many times. It was what had to be done to win the ball gameWindber controlled the ball amazingly long in all there games which in turn means running a lot of plays. Its what has to be done to win. But if a kid from Mcort had that many carries and as many yards it would be okay i suppose. Atleast the areas leading rusher didnt rack up 400 yards on ferndale. Get off of these kids backs for there performance. Lowry made all state so what he played hard and all you were blowin his own horn all season long till he gets awarded for it.
