Always the same argument. Other states have kicked the private schools out don't think PA will do it but it would be nice. I would really like to see them do away with private school athletics. We know these kids dont go to these schools for athletic reasons so let them return to there normal school district for all athletics.

That would level the playing field a little, would be weird having kids go to the same school yet compete against eachother, almost impossible to ever happen tho.

Hey WT, I dont see Pittsburgh CC or Gateway traveling to Texas, Florida, or Cali to play "The Best" you know why? Its not because they are "afraid". Its because having high school kids travel that far to play is nonsense. Its as illogical as having a school with 160 males (BM) playing schools with 1007 (Altoona), 1028 (State College) or even Hollidaysburgh with 500.
I use to have respect for you, but not any more after such a moronic statement which you seem to truely believe.

Mcdevitt has been playing up 2 classes for years DWG. Let me guess, you did not know that. Jeanette plays up, Quippa plays up and schedules games against AAAA regularly, and Steelton gave ur boys from jtown a beat down in AAA bball when they were A. I would have been interested to see mccort play a AAAA schedule back when they had a massive line (Jones Jones Paros Schellhammer Pears etc) I think they would have stepped up to the compeition at least in D6/D10.

Please answer this simple question. Is it fair for BM, BC, and BG to pull from several/many surrounding schools and have those kids compete against the public school who cannot pull from anywhere but his own boundries?
This has nothing to do with recruiting / playing up a class or whatever other arguments are out there. I want W.T.R. or any other private shool proponent to answer this simple question.

DWG...I don't know who you are...I suspect you're a McCort symp or the father of some kid who plays for McCort. You probably plan the bi-yearly smokers at McCort where the "SCHOLARSHIP FUNDS" are raised.
Your statement about public schools playing up is laughable. Kingdom states some good examples...and there are many more. Farrell is another example of a public school that also plays up...They are a class A school that played AAA basketball (now the equivalent of AAAA) for many years. New Castle plays up in basketball (a small AAA playing AAAA). Heck, even Penn Cambria played up at least a few years within the last decade or so in hoops and football (PC has been AA and they played AAA, now PC is a legit AA school and plays as such.) Wait...now go ahead and say that PC played up in AAA because they were afraid of McCort in AA!!!!!!! I could go on, but you get the point.
I love how you glossed over my last post by spinning it to talk about enrollments. It seems as though you think that HS athletics were invented on Osborne Avenue. To that end, I say: Play up, or shut up.
Everyone knows what happened when McCort (and BC and BG) "played up" in the Mid-Alleghenies back in the 1980s...THEY GOT THEIR HATS HANDED TO THEM.
I know that the PIAAs system of classification is based strictly on school enrollment. Until that changes, most privates like McCort will just keep enjoying their class A and AA titles.
Hey DWG...Until your "MIGHTY" Crushers pony-up and play AAAA since they're so hot, Here's all I have to say to you:
"You can't handle the truth! Son, we live in a world that has walls. And those walls have to be guarded by men with guns. Who's gonna do it? You? You, Lt. DWG? I have a greater responsibility than you can possibly fathom. You weep for Coach Hollern and you curse Dave Roman. You have that luxury. You have the luxury of not knowing what I know: that Igor's death, while tragic, probably saved lives. And my existence, while grotesque and incomprehensible to you, saves lives...You don't want the truth. Because deep down, in places you don't talk about at parties, you want me on that wall. You need me on that wall.
We use words like honor, code, loyalty...we use these words as the backbone to a life spent defending something. You use 'em as a punchline. I have neither the time nor the inclination to explain myself to a man who rises and sleeps under the blanket of the very freedom I provide, then questions the manner in which I provide it! I'd rather you just said thank you and went on your way. Otherwise, I suggest you pick up a weapon and stand a post. Either way, I don't give a da*n what you think you're entitled to!"
NOW TELL ME...Did you order the CODE RED??????????

In response to Gators...kids can attend public schools other than their own school district's. And where do you expect kids to come from if a school doesn't have a school district? Are you for the termination of all private/catholic/prep schools?

Walker - I wanted a 'fair' or 'unfair' answer.
No they do not have to close all private schools but maybe only allow them to draw kids within the district the school is in. Wouldnt that be the same as the public schools.
For instance, Mccort can only draw from Johnstown city limits or whatever the district lines would be. Not be able to go clear to Westy or Ferndale or Richland or Windber. That is quite a stretch now isnt it to get kids to go to a school. Lets have them stay within a certain area which the school is located. The same rules public schools must obide by.
As for public school kids going to other public schools, you may be correct but the numbers are no where near that of a BM, BC or BG. You may see a few (if that).
