59 jumps on the pile for a tackle stat but that's about it. Who cares

I definitely am not one to agree with konjo ever........ but i just watched that 5 times and the portage player 59 was dirty. HC's actions also completely over the top. He will be sitting out a game next year. lol

Heritage does a lot of dirty things. Hank again shows why he shouldn't be around football because he see's, "getting a tackle stat" means its justified to jump on a very vulnerable player!

You guys are acting like 59 dove on viciously. he basically flopped on top of the pile it may have been alittle after the whistle but that happens in almost every high school game. As a former player with ankle issues I had my ankles twisted in the pile a lot but I never stood up and punched anyone neither did my teammates you tell the ref and walk away. There's a lot of stuff that happens in piles punching grabbing and a lot more but whatever happened punching doesn't do anything except get you on the bench for the next game.

Pretty unfortunate this topic is taking away from all the other games this weekend. But my final say on the matter is this...

I was originally under the impression that the player holding the ankle was being accused of twisting the ankle, and that just doesn't show up on film. So maybe that's where my confusion starts. So it comes down to people are saying #59 is doing something wrong, I'm still not sure what but obviously with the reaction of #32 for Homer, it was something. I think we can all admit that something provoked him, whether it was words or an act. Something absolutely happened in those two seconds.

And whatever that something was, it is is not entirely cut and dry of what it was, because in the small sample size of this topic alone, you have two groups seeing two different things.

It's unfortunate anything happened at all, and I think really the only thing that comes of this, is that #32 for Homer will be suspended at least one game to start next season. I'm just not sure if there is anything conclusive enough to do anything else. Like I said earlier, I don't see it, a lot of people don't see it, but I am saying something caused the outbreak and I don't know exactly what it was.

To set the record straight here:
1. HC #34 Ean Lee yelled "JESSE, THIS KID IS GOING TO BREAK MY LEG!". That is what caused #32 Jesse Lee to react.
2. Should #32 have punched the kid on the pile? No, but he is a 14 year old freshman NOT an adult who has had days to watch and analyze the situation as everyone here has. Kids are impulsive and make mistakes. His actions were spur of the moment in an attempt to help his brother, misguided as it may have been.
3. The actions of the two Portage players were more than just "normal" in the pile activity. HC 34 said the kid who had his leg was trying to break it. This is a kid who is 3 year varsity starter who played in the district and state playoffs last year, so he has been on the bottoms of several piles. He knows the difference.
4. He did not just limp a little and go back in the next play. He was injured, but as a senior leader, returned to his last high school football game at less than 100 percent after receiving treatment from the trainer on the sideline.
5. On the tape, you clearly see #32 standing near the pile in a relaxed manner-not angry, agitated, etc so something obviously changed his demeanor. That something was his brother yelling about his leg. To act as if he suddenly just decided out of the blue to start swinging is utterly laughable.

Yeah obviously something provokes him because it did happen suddenly like you said.

So Zebra, what you said makes a lot of sense and I appreciate your response because that gives a lot more insight than anyone on here has given. You say the screaming provokes the outburst, and it wasn't any one action by a player.

I think the biggest thing that led to everything, he landed awkwardly from the play. He could have really been injured just for the way he was tackled and how his body got pinned the way it did and that's even before the pile happened.

Again, unfortunate situation for everyone involved.

Yes the typical person comes in here almost six days later, makes an account and tries to tell everyone verbatim on the event that happened on the field from someones brother mothers uncles dogs hedgehogs step son told him EXACTLY what happened.

1) If you watch the video AGAIN, #34 lands face down on the field, how does he even KNOW his brother is behind him standing to be screaming this too so calmly ?!?!?
2) Ok so you're trying to use the excuse that he's only 14 years old. Ok well then flip the situation if he can't control himself, then why is he playing in a varsity football game ?!?!?
3) I can't see what #59 is doing after he is in the pile finishing off the tackle so, nor am I trying to say he did NOTHING wrong however I just can't SEE IT. But please tell me WHO the other player is that is doing something other than "normal" football activity here ?!?!? #51 is not moving his arms/hand/body when he tackles him so unless he's using JEDI MIND TRICKS this is an outright farce and it's sad that you're accusing him of doing something wrong because you "HEARD or WERE TOLD" that he did from someone.
5) Listen once again i'm not saying that #59 was being an angel and he didn't do a little monkey bumping to the thigh or something while finishing off the tackle. However I was in that end zone nearest to the play and I think I would have heard blood curdling screams coming from the pile as you're making it out to be. Seem like #32 didn't like #59 still being on top of his brother and MAYBE giving him a little extra business and lost his rocker and started swinging. He NEVER even looks at #51 or goes after him so like I said STOP BLAMING HIM he did NOTHING WRONG. The video still doesn't show the full extend of the flip out by #32 either, I'd absolutely give him more that one game suspended for contacting an official as well, but that's right he's only 14 years old so we can powder his butt some and make it alright.
