LHAC 2008

Post by Dfense wins games »

I see the LHAC split in half next season. I think there are 3-4 teams that are traditionally strong continuing their tradition. I think that graduation hurt many teams and coaching issues will damage any hope to a successful '08. I hope '08 will feature as much excitement as last season!

This season (last season) (why?)
BM (1) (recruited the best talent to win the lhac this year  )
CC (2) (should be an interesting game come vs BM! A solid core of WR's should put up some impressive #s this season)
FH (9) (some guys returning, trust donbo wont have another losing season for a while)
BC (8) (looked great in the last 3 games last season (will it follow over to 08?) look for the Huskies to give it to Julock on every play, should be enough to win 6 games)
PC (10) (Newton will lead the team, not sure if Maxprep's numbers are right with only having 450 passing yards on the season?)
BG (6) (returning 1200 yard passer - might lead the league next season but losing McSandwhiches will be tough)
Jtown(3) (not sure if anyone on this team will "stink" enough to be on this year's Deodorant player of the year..)
Westy(7) (no coach - no team, should be interesting to see if they can be the "feel good" story in the lhac after overcomming the odds)
CH (12) (0-10 to 3-9, could be a possibility)
Somerset(3) (Losing everything but Dykstra could be rough on the Eagles)
Richland(3) (did i say somerest lost alot? i meant richland did)
Bedford(11) (trouble in Bison country)

BUT, it is only March and I needed something to talk about after Pitt and Gtown ruined my bracket :(

Good post, But I really feel FH will be much better than CC in 08. They had them beat in Sidman last year without some of their best players, And CC graduated ALOT. What's their record against eachother in the past 15 years? like 14-1 in favor of FH or something..
Westmont, despite the coaching situation, will be a very solid team if their players stay. I know you McCort ppl like DWG really HATE westmont, but they return a lot of solid players everywhere.
BG will likely be better than PC.

Who will be CCs QB this year? most of the teams last year graduated there skill players, mostly QBs. Until the season gets underway the only teams that i think will be good are the ones that have been good or are usually good. such as McCort, CC, FH. The teams that didnt loose there QBs is Penn Cambria. Westmont? Cambria Heights...Correct me if im wrong..

He was injured for 4-5 weeks and when he came back he split time with Vescovi..Vescovi has experience and they know he will be the starter so there is no QB problem there

CC lost 3 year starter McGregor this year. Backing him up for the last two years was (also a good WR) Jeff Wasilewski. I assume that it is JW's job to lose, but moving him to Q would also deplete a receiving corps even more (lost Taylor to graduation). I also heard that Ridgeley might move in from QB for an option look, but that could just be a rumor. And Bussard's kid is a sophomore this year, so if the first two struggle you might see some building for the future. But no matter who's taking snaps, they won't have the same leadership/pure passing game/toughness that they did when McGregor was back there. JW's a great athlete no doubt, but I don't know if he's got the mental aspect of the game down (at least that's what a CC coach told me). If JW can get his stuff straight and their coaches figure out who should be where CC has a chance to be ok this year.

CC always plays hard nose football for 4 quarters. Games are won in the trenches and CC has the hogs upfront most years.

Whats that situation like CC fans?

CC's strong point was there defense. From that they lose Blackwell, Cornetti, Petrosky, Caldwell, Taylor, Olsavsky, Kimball, As well as others. With just those names they lose 7 of their top 10 in tackles! Leaving Davidson, Patterson, and Kudlawiec the other 3. That is a tremendous loss, and although they still have Wasilewski and Ridgeley they will be no help upfront. If the CC team doesn't fight 7 starters to replace these kids, who were all solid or better, it could be a long year in a tough conference. (Stats from MaxPreps)

On the other side, they return Kudlawiec on the line, Ridgeley, Wasilewski, and a decent running back in O'Saben

I look for CC to reload and not rebuild. Their newly aquired coaches really had an impact on the team last year and I think they should follow that up nicely. I think that CC should be good on D despite their losses to graduation. I believe that the class of 09 has somewhere around 20 guys on the team, so these seniors should be able to step up and fill the big shoes in the front 7. Also havent the CC JV and Freshman teams been real solid in the last few years?
Do you believe in miracles.....YES!
