Another Big East Coach Heads to Big Ten.
For such an elite conference, there sure have been a lot of Big East college coaches jumping to the Big Ten when given a chance. Today, Indiana named its new head basketball coach, the now former Marquette coach Tom Crean. I can't even name a time off the top of my head when a Big Ten coach went to the Big East.

Re: Another Big East Coach Heads to Big Ten.
Please don't compare conferences when it comes to basketball. The Big East is better from top to bottom without a doubt.
Indiana is one of the top jobs in the country. It is right up there with UCLA, North Carolina, Kansas, Duke, Georgetown, Syracuse as far as tradition and prestige.
Crean's move to Indiana is just that. A move to one of the most prestigious jobs in a state where basketball is the king.
Last night on ESPN Game Day, they discussed Crean's move to Indiana. All three gentlemen on the panel agreed that Crean will win more games at Indiana because the Big East is so brutally tough. This of course will happen after Crean gets his players in there. With the two players being dismissed from the team and the freshman possiby going to the NBA, Indiana will have 5 new starters next year.
Don't make this more than it is. Crean wouldn't have left Marquette for any other Big Ten team except possibly Michigan State, where he was Izzo's assistant. It is not a Big East coach leaving for the Big Ten, It is the Marquette coach leaving for Indiana.

Uh, no, it was a Big East coach who did indeed leave for the Big Ten.
I was not comparing the conferences in basketball. I was just stating that another coach from the (in)famous mighty Big East has fled to the Big Ten.
If a conference is so great, why do the coaches leave for other conferences?

If he would have left for Northwestern, Penn State, or Iowa, then I would agree with you. He left for Indiana. The basketball capital of the world.
Ben Howland left for UCLA, his dream job!
What other Big East Basketball coach has left?
