Recruiting News of the Day + Dr Pepper Information
First off, let me say that today I took a fine lass down to Dublin, TX to the Dr Pepper museum. What they have down there, which I guarantee many of you do not know, is Dublin Dr. Pepper. This is the only place in the world that still uses real sugar in Dr Pepper instead of high fructose corn syrup, which we all know is extremely unhealthy. You'd be surprised at the difference in taste and in content. The 8 oz bottles (standard) only have 100 calories and 27 grams of pure sugar. That's actually very good as far as a dessert would go. Regular Dr Pepper cans have more calories, 40 grams of sugar, and use the corn syrup. Only catch is that you can only get the Dublin Dr Pepper within a 40 mile radius of Dublin, TX. However, you can order it online and they will ship it to your house. You should try it.
Some recruiting news...
Today was a big day for the NitWits. First, they got a verbal from Shrek.

Seriously, look at this kid. Do we want him on our team?
Secondly, PSU scored a major commit today with Indian River, NY RB Curtis Dukes. He is a 3-star RB who only had offers to the Cuse and Buffalo, but I have a very, very good feeling about this kid. I have been watching this guy's recruiting for months, hoping PSU would offer him. Actually, Pitt offered him as well, which I had not seen. Okay back to Dukes... here is what Scout says:
Dukes rushed for 900 yards and seven touchdowns as a junior, however his statistics were drastically altered as his team was constantly up by a large margin by halftime. As a sophomore, Dukes earned Third Team Class A All-State honors. He ran for 1,342 yards and 15 touchdowns while earning All-Conference and All-Section honors.
I am very happy with this. For as much as I want PSU to spread the ball around, I am still a diehard PSU fan who wants more than anything to have a punishing RB. I don't even care how fast he is. But here are his physical stats: Ht: 6-2 Wt: 235 40: 4.50. This kid is a tractor trailer that is sliding down 56 outside of Windber on a frozen November night. Very, very glad he was offered a scholarship.
In somewhat sad recruiting news, Pitt and PSU both lost the Abdul Smith sweepstakes, and you can guess where he is headed. Rutgers. The 3-star S from Perkiomen HS is the newest commit to an insane class. I'm not even raising the worry flag yet though, because PSU has a bunch of secondary commits in this class already. When they start to steal kids that PSU actually needs to have, I'll be worried. That has not happened to PSU yet, but I think Pitt is starting to feel the burn.
