LEGION--------St. Michaels vs. Westmont
LEGION--------St. Michaels vs. Westmont
Who is going to win this 3 game series, which has all games going 9 innings?
Re: LEGION--------St. Michaels vs. Westmont
Should bea great series, both teams have great hitting... But i think i have to give the advantage to St. Michael, i think they have to many pitchers.. with the games being 9 innings Westmont is going to run out of pitching, and the saints are going to T off on them! Could be wrong, just my opinion!
Re: LEGION--------St. Michaels vs. Westmont
Westmont has the bats to hang, but St. Michael's pitching depth wins out in the end (as long as Skoner and Reighard are available in this series as far as their AAABA teams).
Just an opinion: For Westmont to have a chance, Boyd needs to pitch better than he has the past couple outings.
Observation: Not sure how they'll match them up but Mehall can be had on the road. He's a dominant pitcher at home in this league and just a very good one on the road.

Like I said, Westy has the edge if Reighard pitches. ;-)
Seriously, I would imagine Gramling has to go with Malesky/Skoner tonight to get him to a third game and then he'd have Mehall at home. It will be interesting to see who West throws. St. Michael seems to struggle (for them, which means 6-8 runs instead of 11-15) against guys in the high 70s with a curveball or something offspeed to complement.

I have a feeling it will either be Boyd or McKoslsky getting the nod. Im leaning towards Boyd becasue he hasnt pitched in a few games.

Re: LEGION--------St. Michaels vs. Westmont
Rumor has it that Max Smeal and Kecklak threw ..... this means Westmont still has Boyd Mcklosky Matthews (there 3 best ) for tonights game
I feel Westmont has a deeper batting line-up with more speed than St. Michaels ...... Westmont also has more depth in the infield with kecklak boyd godish ziance matthews available ..... not to mention probably the best outfielders in the area .... Beker Kastelick and McKlosky
St. Mikes catcher, Gadula doesnt have the speed or the arm to keep up with Westmont , where Mcdonald can keep St. Mikes from advancing
However .... I think St. Michaels has the better pitching staff with Malesky , Reighard, Mehall , Skooner ...............
Looking forward to see how game 2 ends up ......

Re: LEGION--------St. Michaels vs. Westmont
Here's a "Nostradamus" moment for you, syd. Westmont has reached the end of the road after taking out St. Michael. They will be dominated in State College, much the same as the Saints' young guns would also. Westmont only reached the finals because of a fluke. That fluke was that prior to the playoffs being started, it was agreed by all participating managers that NO kid was to pitch more than 9 innings, in order to save their arms from damage later on. Mathews pitched 10 against Claysburg, but to the Bulldogs' detriment, they did not protest, and Westy advanced. As good as Aungst, Swope and co. were, they would've been "pitched out" , used with too little rest, to be able to handle the Saints. All in all, congrats to Westy, and their sideline SHOWBOAT antics, and to the Saints for an outstanding season.
