Worst places to play!
Nice topic on LHAC top ten.
What about the worst place to go and play....worst field, facilities(lockeroom), homer officials, fans, food, drive, etc.
I would have to rate Mo Valley's old field as the WORST place to play anywhere! The field was terrible, lockerrooms no kidding had wood pallet floors in the showers and shower heads that hung from the ceiling, and old house trailer for a press box and the worst bunch of inbred redneck homer officials around. Heck my senior year up there the head refs real name was homer!

I agree Southpaw Mo Valley is definitely one of the worst places to play. I haven't seen the new field yet because they are afraid to play on it, but the old one was horrible. Long drive, awful locker rooms, terrible playing field (its like half grass half dirt), poor lighting, plus the only time I played there we lost 35-0.
Claysburg is another bad one. First of all you have to walk down the hill from the school to the field, in which you will lose at least 6 players before the game to injury from falling down or rolling an ankle. The playing surface isn't the best, and part of the infield from the baseball field is actually on the playing field. The away bleachers are a joke also. Why are most places so stingy on the away bleachers? It’s ridiculous and nearly every school does it.
I saw a lot of posts in the other topics about people disliking Saturday afternoon games. I personally like a Saturday afternoon game maybe once a year just as a change of pace. I would love to see NBC take on a rival such as Tussey Mt. or Everett in a 4:00 start. HS football is definitely meant for Friday nights but a Saturday or two a year is ok in my book.

I have never been to Mo Valley but it sounds bad. I played at Heights my junior year and from my playing experience I would have to say it's the worst I have ever played on.

Re: Worst places to play!
Penns Valleys Field gets torn to pieces every year. When CC played them in the playoffs last year, the field had 0 grass on it and 100% mud. The kids were slipping and sliding left and right.
Im gonna take CH as the worst overall stadium, locker rooms, stands, and basically everything though.

Whoa, wait a second, didnt Cambria Heights just build a new stadium up by the high school????
But those locker rooms at the old field are horrible. Hotdogs were good though.
The old Point Stadium locker rooms were probably just as bad as Heights.

What about actual playing surfaces? The Point was up there as the worst, how bout any more? CC's field doesnt drain (at all). Sure does give you an advantage vs those fast and quick players...

Re: Worst places to play!
Well, Ill be the first to mention Mansion Park. I might as well play in my living room if i wanted to play there. Thats the worst feeling to wake up to the next day..rug burn..ouch. I do believe its time for Altoona to catch up with the times, and make their way to some new artificial turf.

Re: Worst places to play!
I don't know if Heights built a new stadium or not. All i know is that the new stadium wasn't done when I played. Mansion Park is a nice stadium but the field does suck. Rug burn is no fun. The point was terrible and CC's field was like playing in a swamp.
