LHAC Preview-Week 8
Alright folks it is starting to get down to playoff time and things are starting to take shape. Here are the previews of the Laurel Highlands on MY opinions.
(SORRY FOR THE EXTRA LONG POST I USED TO LOVEEEEEE THESE BACK IN THE HAY DAY AND SO I AM STARTING ONE)
Bishop Guilfoyle (4-3) vs. Somerset (1-6)
Bishop Guilfoyle is coming into the game after losing to CC this past week. Although negative Brown and Passonetti both had very big games. The strength of this team is to get Brown into space and let him do his thing.
Somerset is down this year yet again. I thought they could be a .500 team but I was wrong. They need to ride Dykstra more often or else this one will get ugly.
As for the game Guilfoyle needs to come out and get on Somerset early and often to take them out of the game. If this happens the starters are done mid way thru the third. Somerset needs to est. the run and not make mistakes. But I do not think they will. I take Guilfoyle in a land slide.
BG 45- 12
Richland (3-4) vs. Bedford (1-6)
Richland threw away their game last week to Westmont. Turning the ball over in the red zone will never wi you a game. They need to work on their miscues and not make big mistakes like this. I do no know if Ramirez is back this week or not but either way I see Richland throwing 35+ passes.
Bedford what can I say. Possible the best 1-6 team. HAHA Im serious though they could easily be 3-4. I do not really know one kid on the teams name but they fight hard in every game and are always in it at the end. Finally broke through last week with a win.
This one is a tale of two stories. If Ramirez plays I see this game being a high scoring one. Bedfords pass defense is below average. Richland passes almost every play so do the math. Richlands rush defense is below average. Bedford runs that goofy offense that runs everytime. Once again do the math. If Ramirez doesnt play I think Richland is in trouble. Upset Special................
Ramirez playes....RH 33-27
Ramirez sits.......Bed. 27-21
Johnstown (4-3) vs. Cambria Heights (1-6)
Johnstown is without any big name guys this year. But I believe this to be a good team as a whole. They have good speed at their skill positions. Plan on them having a big game this week against a down right bad CH defense.
Cambria Heights on offene seems to be coming along. Priester gets his yards a game sometimes being aginst second and third stringers bu he still does. Vescovi at quarterbac is young and his youth shows. He holds the ball to long sometimes and doesnt read coverages all that well yet.
After the beat down Johnstown got last week I plan on seeing them come out and do the same thing to Cambria Heights. JH has to much speed for CH to handle. Priester will not get many yards against JH first defense beause the Trojans line is huge.
JH 43-8
Westmont (2-5) vs. Central Cambria (5-2)
Westmont is finally coming around. Big win last week for this group. They need to show up with as much intensity this week to have a shot. Also they need to get the passing game going this week to.
Central Cambria is coming into this winning two big games the past two weeks. This is a must win for CC because if the lose this and fall to BM next week they could be looking at the 7th or 8th spot for the playoffs.
Look for Westmont to feed it to Keklak early and often. CC will probabaly stack the line like they did against FH to stop him. Westmont will haveto get the pass game going. Look for Valcheff to have a huge game along with McKloskey recieving the football. CC will also be feeding it to O Saben early to but expect Westmont to stuff that. The key to this game will be which quarterback performs better Myers for CC or whoever it is haha for Westmont.
CC 22-13
Go To Games (GTG)
Forest Hills (6-1) vs. Bishop Carrol (4-3)
Forest Hills needs to go to what has worked all season in this one. The running game. They need to also start gearing towards the playoffs and get the passing game back together also. Rosenburger and Glessner need to start hooking up again.
Bishop Carrol also need to start producing in the differet facites of their game. They are only 2 weeks away from the playoffs and are trying to set up a good seed. They need to be physical upfront in this one to have a chance.
BC needs to stop Mehall from having a big day to have a chance. Stack the line of scrimmage just like CC did and FH out of their running game. For Bc establish the lin of scrimmage on offense and get Julock out in the open those are the keys. My opinion on this game BC will stack the lin and take out FH's sunning game because of the big bodies BC has upfront. But there is one major problem. If you stuff the run Baley just puts these athletes out wide and this is where BC will have a hue problem. Expect Mehall and Rosenbuger to both have big days recieving the ball and Glessner to get back in rythm.
FH 34-18
Bishop McCort (7-0)vs. Penn Cambria (4-3)
Penn Cambria has to come out and blitz and stack the line to stop this BM rush offense to have a chance in the game. If tey do this and make BM pass this will be a close game. Newton is a horse and will get his yards just running three yards and falling forward for another three. BM nees to totally take Newton out of the game and it will not even be a game. I see this being a duken out because I do not see either team accomplishing what I said above. Glenn will make a difference recieving the football.
BM 35-28
Lets here thoughts and opinions!!!!

Settle down now amusedchatter...
Now whether Ramires sits or not, Im taking Richland by a lot in this game. Bedford just isnt the Bedford of old, and Richland is gonna be passing the ball if Ramires is in or not, and Bedford wont be able to handle the passing game. Rich-28 Bed-7
CC should be able to stop Keklak, if they could stop the powerhouse running of FH and Mehall. CC will be able to run at will against Westmont, and Im not sure if Westmont is even a passing team, and if they are, they better be ready for the Dbacks of CC. CC- 31 Westy - 14
The PC McCort game is an interesting one. Im not sure BM has really gone up against any power running this year, and not quite sure what their Dline unit looks like. PC wont be passing much, and I think thats whats really is going to hurt them. If BM can stop Glenn from making a big reception, i think this game is gonna roll the way they want it to. BM - 35 PC - 21
The rest seems pretty fair. Not a bad job Amusedchatter..

Does CC and Westmont play on Satuday or Friday night. Could be a game to attend Saturday if they do play then.

Um, no, its the one in the center of the track at their middle school. I dont remember them ever playing at a baseball field for varsity football.
As for the PC game prediction...
"Penn Cambria has to come out and blitz and stack the line to stop this BM rush offense to have a chance in the game. If tey do this and make BM pass this will be a close game."
If you saw the Jtown game, you saw BM attacking the perimeter. Stack the box, they run outside. Line up outside, they run up the middle. The key is to staying home for LBs and the Dline needs to play on the other side of the line of scrimmage. That my friend is the key. Too bad no team has been able to do it yet.
"Newton is a horse and will get his yards just running three yards and falling forward for another three."
8 yard average is awesome. What isnt awesome is the 11 tds. That is why BM will win this one. They average 13 more points per game and allow 10 less.
Plus it will be at the Point where BM is suffocating their opponents on average 39-5!

Westmont has played at the middle school since the dawn of time. You must be confusing the JV who would play at the baseball field 3 years ago before Westmont added a softball field. That's why their practice field is only 70 yards long.

Re: LHAC Preview-Week 8
Yeah, i never played Westy away when I was in high school, and I could only remember playing at the crappy baseball fields in middle school. I forgot all about the middle school. Kinda hard to forget when the bleachers are on the inside of the track.
