Saturday's Games.....

Post by Crimson09Crazy »

I'll first start off with....The Pitt-Navy game. This game could present big problems for Pitt. Navy is definatley not a pushover. They have beaten teams more athletic then they are the past two years. They have a win over a ranked opponent this season(the Demon Deacons) Pitt goes down to Annapolis with a 4 game winning streak along with a win over a top ranked team. My feelings on the game...It will be a hyped up crowd for Navy being Homecoming and boat weekend at the Accademy.Navy will be playing hard. Pitt will start out slow but as the game progresses thats when this team has been stepping up the challenge. I say Shady continues his hot streak and runs wild and The Pitt defense will get big stops in the second half.
Pitt 34 Navy 21

Now the Lions....Its been what 8 or 9 years since they have beaten the Wolverines? The last time the Lions got off to a hot start it was Michigan and Super Mario in the back of the endzone that put the only blemish on their record. (I would like to say that was one of the greatest days as a college football fan with PSU losing and USC coming back to beat ND within minutes of each other) back to the point that game was in Michigan Stadium. This one will be at the Beav on Homecoming and PSU this year is better then '05 and Michigan this year is much much worse then '05. This doesnt bode well for the Wolverines.
Joe Pa ends his streak against the Blue and they do it easily.
Penn State 45 Michigan 7

I like both of your picks. If PSU loses that one, then they should challenge a BCS bid for the Big 10.

Good picks, but Penn State by that much? I think thats pushing it just a tad bit too far. Yeah the Lions are good this year and Michigan basically blows, but keep in mind how many times over the years Michigan has beaten them. They arent just gonna simply roll over and die. Ill take PSU 24 MICH 7

Michigan put up 10 on Toledo. They dont deserved to be picked within 20 points of Penn State

A few other games for this weekend and my predictions:

Missouri @ Texas

Mizzou got upset last weekend and are looking for payback against the #1 team in the nation. Chase Daniel has had a chip on his shoulder ever since Texas did not recruit him until the last minute after Ryan Perriloux decommitted from Texas. It should be another high scoring game for both teams. I am going to go with my heart on this prediction, but only because I have read Texas has had their best practices of the season this week. Honestly, the game could go either way.

Texas 38 Missouri 34

Kansas @ Oklahoma

Todd Reesing is a very good quarterback for Kansas and they may have the best defense in the Big 12. However, Oklahoma will be able to exploit their defense and move the ball with ease. Sam Bradford is probably the best quarterback in the nation and will lead his team to a relatively easy victory.

Oklahoma 45 Kansas 28

Ohio State @ Michigan State

Michigan State has the Ringer. Ohio State has the next VY and Beanie Wells. What a battle. The next VY has not shown his true abilities to this point, but that is expect since he is only a true freshman. He needs to come out in a big way to win this one and I think he will. Ohio State is going to control the clock and win late with a TD pass from Pryor. This is a huge game for both teams. Whoever wins this game will get their shot at PSU later in the year with a chance to win the Big 10 title.

Ohio State 24 Michigan State 17

Mississippi @ Alabama

Mississippi pulled off one of the most stunning upsets of the season to this point when they beat Florida. Mississippi is led by quarterback Jevan Snead, a transfer from the University of Texas. Alabama is undefeated and may very well be the best team in the nation. I think Alabama will take the lead early and never look back. It won't be a blow out, but Saban will have his boys ready to play.

'Bama 38 Ole Miss 20

Anyone else have thoughts on these games?

Well so much for everyone calling the PSU/MICH game a blowout...17-7 MICH with :32 seconds left to play in the first half...I told you this was going to be their first competitive matchup of the season, and MICH wasnt going to just roll over and die.

spoke to soon my friend!

Michigan sucks. Penn States pretty good. Go Buckeyes.

Really impressed with Navy. The setting is great!!!! nice stadium(attendence record was set) It was a really nice afternoon.

Pitt really stepped to the plate defensively. You see the score was 42-21.....it shouldve been something along the lines of 56-7. Stull made a bonehead throw that the returned deep into our territory and scored the next play and Navy also scored with about a minute to go. But for my report on the game....Shady was incredible. He reversed field a few times made some pretty moves and averaged 8 yards a carry. He was awesome. Stull's worst game of the year without a doubt. He had a few passes tipped at the line of scrimmage and threw 2 picks. But one thing he is improving is his timing on the deep ball to Baldwin...Thats turning into a nice connection! Defensively...They really only managed 1 good drive. We completely shut down the Triple option. This Pitt team is turning into a pretty good football team...hope they keep it rolling aginst Rutgers next week.
