District 6 "A" playoffs.
Well 16 teams have qualified but I am not real sure all teams will play in the Playoffs. I do not think Conemaugh Valley will accept their bid to play. Not 100% sure but a player told me they werent. This will give the top team a bye. And only 20 points seperates Bishop McCort and Portage. Portage wont lose to Berlin. Bishop McCort has a really difficult game with Central Cambria coming up and could lose. But i am going to assume they win this game. And by beating a good AA team McCort will hang on to the lead.
So it should shake out like this.....
(projected record after this week)
1.Bishop McCort 9-0
16. Bye or Conemaugh Valley 4-5
8 Mount Union 6-3
9 Northern Cambria 6-3
5 Moshannon Valley 8-1
12 Bishop Gulfoyle 5-4
4 Bellwood-Antis 8-1
13 Blairsville 5-4
6 Laurel Valley 7-2
11 Bishop Carroll 5-4
3 Purchase Line 9-0
14 Penns Manor 5-4
7 Homer Center 6-3
10 Blacklick Valley 6-3
2. Portage 9-0
15 Claysburg 5-4
This is only projected it can definatley change...this weekend's games will certainly mix things around
These games will certainly have a huge role in changing the standings and seedings.
Bishop McCort-Central Cambria
Mt Union-Bellwood
Blairsville-Laurel Valley
BG-Johnstown
Penns Manor-Homer Center

Re: District 6 "A" playoffs.
Just a question i though that the seeding points stopped after week 8 or am i wrong about that one just wondering
Re: District 6 "A" playoffs.
Declaration for 2008 Playoff Dates:
Class A - Sunday, Oct. 19
Classes AA/AAA/AAAA - Sunday, Oct. 26
This came of the D6 site. If this is true, then the Single A playoff teams are already set. They're just playing for seeds right now.
Double A teams must declare by next Sunday so it seems. If Westmont ends up in the 8th spot after next week, but decides not to go according to school policy, will Ligoneer or BEA get the opportunity to say that they want in?
Other important dates:
Oct 31-Nov 1 (week ten) - Class A first round
Nov 7-8- Class A second round; Class AA first round; Class AAA semis; Class AAAA 1st round
Nov 14-15 - Class A Semis; Class AA second round; Class AAA FINALS; Class AAAA semis
Nov 21-22 - Class A Finals; Class AA Finals; Class AAA inter-District; Class AAAA Regional FINALS
Class A - Sunday, Oct. 19

I do not understand this at all.
So you are saying that after next week for AA the playoffs will be set.
Week 10 doesnt count towards that playoffs??????
Please explain

Re: District 6 "A" playoffs.
This is what I found...
Declaration for 2008 Playoff Dates:
Class A - Sunday, Oct. 19 (points/seeds will take place after week 9 games have been played)
So it sounds like Week 9 still counts for points and seedings but maybe declaring for the playoffs and just saying that you accept the invitation if you happened to make it. Hopefully this clears things up for some people. It is kind of confusing though.

Ok thanks lhacbigfan that clears alot up for me
Re: District 6 "A" playoffs.
Bellwood vs Bg in the second round would be a good game
BC would pummell LV and have interesting matchup with PL (all their old appalachian friends)
I would love to see CV play BM

Re: District 6 "A" playoffs.
Honestly, nobody in dist.6A wants to see their team play McCort, a few dilusional folks sure, but IMO there are only 2 teams that could give them a run.
