Claysburg Football
Claysburg Football
Any thoughts on the Claysburg football program. Congrats. to Everett on last nights win and to take nothinig away from them but Ck did every thing in their power to hand the game to Everett as well. It is a shame what they are getting out of the talent they have down there. Now they head to Portage Friday night for a playoff game and some say it is something to build off of for the future but unless some things get changed down there in a hurry, there will just be more of the same in years to come

in NO WAY,SHAPE,OR FORM you guys(portage d-bags) are scoring that much in a playoff game. KEEP DREAMING DURRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Re: Claysburg Football
if Portage only scores 54 points it will be because they pull the starters in the early 3rd quarter.

Portage won't take any chances with injuries this week. They will win the game by halftime and then coast from there. It will give the non-starters some playoff experience and keep the winner of Blairsville/Mt. Union guessing a bit.
Remember, Portage starts around 16 underclassmen. This incredible year may be nothing compared to next season.

Titan,
It is a shame that we will probably never be able to answer that question.
Believe me, pretty much everyone in Portage would rather see our Mustangs playing FH and PC each year than Berlin, Ferndale, Rockwood, etc. FH and PC are natural border rivalries. I played against the Lilly/St. Als/St. Francis kids the whole way thru our graduating years in football and basketball. Owned them in football, got owned in basketball. And still carry on great frienships with a number of them.
However, conferences are usually set up to create some sort of equal playing field. FH and PC are over 3X the size of Portage these days, they are in the LHAC and the Mustangs reside in the West Pac where they belong according to enrollment. It is what it is.
Regardless, the Mustangs would be an easy (-14) vs. the Panthers this year in football.
