I was at the Portage/Purchase Line game tonight Portage did not impress me at all it showed that the only reason Purchase Line was undefeated is because their in the Heritage and the spped differencial between the LHAC and the WeakPac is unbelieveable yes Portage has two good backs in Burgan and Sinosky but you could make the case McCort has 6(Wadley,Lowry,Merriman,Seidel,McAneny,and James)also Portages D-Line is sooooo small compared to McCort's O-Line and i sat with my cousins who coaches for Carroll and talked to some of the Carroll coaches who all said Portage won't even hang with them personally unless McCort plays terribly i dont see how Portage even hangs with McCort let alone beat them early call McCort by at least 3 TDs

Yes you are right how can schools like the lowly west pac and Icc hand with the big mighty LHAC. My pick is Bishop McCort Community College in a close one 31-28. And those Scarlet Dragons who ran from the LHAC with their tails between their legs and didnt deserve to be on the same field as FH are now in the championship game in what should be a very good game.

I dont think anyone said Central didnt deserve to be on the same field as FH actually im not shocked their good because when their junior class were fresmen the junior high team went 8-1(the one loss being McCort) so im not totally surprised their good im surprised their this good but not that their good

The interesting thing you mentioned is about Centrals freshman class when they were in Junior High . At least they went to their Junior High to get their kids and not every other school in the area. Also imagine if Portage could go to the local Cambria county schools and pick up about 5 or 6 kids to fill needs, like others.

The D6 A championship was already played last night between BM & BA. I was at both semi-final games and BM & BA are by far the 2 best in 6A. BM has a ton of talent (only question is where it comes from) and BA showed a lot of heart and toughness and had many opportunities to pull it out. BM will beat Portage by 3 scores and let the recruiting arguments continue.

I'm rooting for Portage bigtime next weekend. I'd love to see them move to 12-0. It is too bad McCort was in the bracket. The same thing happens every year in hoops. I would have loved to see Bellwood vs. Portage in the finals. Those two communities would have been at Mansion in droves.

The weird thing...these two teams from up the mountain both have to travel down to Mansion and play on the old school carpet. Now that the teams are there, Richland would probably be a great place to have the final on the field turf versus that green cement in Altoona.

Yep you nailed it Bishop Carroll and all there district championships and state championship appearences are oh so jealous of Portage and their ZERO district championships your real smart i said it before will say it again McCort by at least 3 TDs
