The Central Cambria huddle at the end of Friday night's District 6 Class AA championship football game was full of tears. But not tears of joy.

The Red Devils were applauding. But their names weren't the ones being announced to receive medals.

Instead, they were being respectful, congratulating a team that dominated every facet of a game they felt they shouldn't have lost. - Altoona Mirror


Central Cambria did the same last year. Every player stood in line, and applauded every single Crusher as they received their medals. This year was the same story. That is what makes CC football so special to me. You actually get something out of it. It shows real character to be able to stand on the other sideline and applaud every single player as they are rewarded with something that you've been fighting for all season long. That is class. I applaud you CC football.

I watched Windber and Conemaugh Township do the same thing following the D-5 A championship. Very classy gesture between two bitter rivals. Actions like that transcend the game and make both teams winners.

CC's usually a classy team. Buzzard's a jerk, so I'm not surprised to read about his bird-flipping ways.

I also remember how classy they were in the 2005 season when they came to central one night and spray painted "red devils" in the grass at the high school. so we (central) took it personal and went up the mountain and spanked them 26-6.

That wasnt CC. Why would CC go all the way to Martinsburg, a team that isnt even a rival, and spray paint "Red Devils" on your field? I believe you got hoaxed by your own kind my friend.

The only spray painting CC does in on the Husky paw every year. Gotta keep tradition and the over the hill rivalry alive you know.

I cant keep quiet anymore, and I know how you guys hate it when kids get on here but i was on the sideline the whole night and I am a proud member of the Central Cambria Football program. I kick for the team and it was my one and only year. I loved it. I quit soccer for it and wouldnt trade it for the world. I admit we lost fair and square because it was quite evident that we got our butts handed to us. We got dominated in every aspect of the game and being a sore loser isnt an excuse for anything. But when you "hear reports that the headcoach was flipping off the other sideline" when there clearly wasnt an incident with the headcoach, then you should get your facts straight before you start posting. The real story was that an injured athlete was hysterical and couldnt believe that his championship was slipping away. Its not an excuse to flip off the other sideline, but it was a kid. I was one of the kids trying to get him to cool off and get away from the officials. We got a sideline penalty because of him. NOT BUSSARD. C'mon seriously. A head coach doing something that rash? get your facts straight and your mouths shut.

I listened to the game and the announcer, after Central scored to make it 41-0, said that the "CC headcoach used a hand signal to show his displeasure (about the call on 4th and 7) to the other sideline". Tell me, were YOU watching the coach the whole time??? Sounds like you were busy and maybe didn't see what the announcer saw.

Ive spent the whole year with the man and have had him as my principle for 4 years. All year he told us to lead by example and when Central took the timeout at the end of the game, he gathered us in and told us to take it like men and not do anything stupid while we shook the Central players hands. Coach Bussard's character reflects his actions on and off the field. He may have made mistakes but we all do. I was there, I was with him. I AM A KICKER. The score was 41-6. I wasnt on the field much so i was on the sideline pretty much the whole time. There wouldve been chatter after the game between the players and I about this "incident".
