Come on Windber fans
Seriously, where are you guys at? At least McCort fans are still here defending their team.

What do you want Windber fans to say? They played a lot better than most people thought. To hold Clairton to 3 first downs and 6 points in the first half is impressive.

They played better than people thought? Didn't Windber have 57 yards of offense?

Re: Come on Windber fans
D6Guru, I agree with you that D5 and D6 should combine for football, especially in AA. There were only 3 teams in D5 AA this year. I believe that if there aren't at least 8-10 teams in a district, that district should combine with another district. That rule would go for all sports, not just football. If the smaller district still wants to declare a district champion based on record, points or who goes furthest in the playoffs, that is their prerogative.
D5 A had 9 teams this year, so they could still get by with their own district depending on where you draw the line for the minimum number of teams. There would still be problems if they combined the districts, but it would create a better playoff in my opinion.

Re: Come on Windber fans
I could be wrong about this, but I think the reason District 5 went to having their own playoffs was due to the Philly schools participating in the PIAA. Either it made the number of districts uneven or the amount of A teams uneven so District 5 now has their own playoffs.
The entrance of the Philly teams is also the reason that District 6A plays in the eastern bracket in the playoffs, to even out the number of teams on each side of the state.
I will give Windber credit. They played much better than I thought they would, especially on the defensive side of the ball. And on the offensive side of the ball if they did only have 57 yards of offense, well there is a reason Clairton only gave up 30 some points all year.

It makes me really happy because i was sick of hearing them!!
Re: Come on Windber fans
I think we should look into getting rid of the single wing. It does not work, especially in the cold weather. There mut be a reason why we are the only team in the state that runs it. If it really worked, other teams would run it.
