What an injustice.
Every year this **** makes me sicker. I have no idea what people have seen from OU to say they are maybe the best team in the country. Perception is reality, and everyone dismissed the fact that that OSU game was a 3 pt game until about 5 mins left. Unbelievable. But maybe this is what we need. OU playing Florida or even Alabama, and they are gonna do what they always do: Choke. I seriously hope Alabama wins, but I would love to see Florida put 70 on that garbage OU defense. I cannot believe people are saying that this OU defense is worth a ****. Perception is reality, just like last year when LSU spun those losses like "well we never lost in regulation".
Texas was completely screwed, and I really hope Mack Brown goes nuts in a press conference. That's what we need: a coach to swear and go ape ****. This is so pathetic. And you know what? Not 1 single national title has ever been real.
God, its so embarrassing!

Re: What an injustice.
Maybe this is what needed to happen. Maybe now enough people will complain and it'll push the playoff forward.
I'll tell you what else is ridiculous: Ohio State getting a BCS bid over Utah or Boise State. Why don't you shoehorn Georgia in there, too?

I knew this was coming. It sucks, but Texas couldn't get the job done against Tech. I just hope they don't have a let down in their Bowl Game. Mack is not happy, but I don't think he'll go nuts. ESPN is going to, though. They were jumping on the UT bandwagon all week.

TAE, the University of Texas is very upset. The rumors are starting already that they might pull out of the Big 12. They may go Independent like Notre Dame. Some very interesting things are being thrown around today.

I for one would welcome Texas into the Big Ten if only to finally shove Notre Dame further into its rat hole. If there is debate about Missouri or Nebraska in the B10, why not Texas????

frost, many high up people at Texas are mad. A lot is said in the heat of the moment, so I don't know if they would actually consider doing it. They are the main power in the Big 12 in about every sport. This ranges from Football, Basketball, Baseball, Swimming, and what not. The Big 12 is in trouble if Texas would ever leave.

Re: What an injustice.
Agree 100% In my opinion they (UT) got hosed.....Same thing would have happened to PSU right now also....OU would have leap-frogged an undefeated PSU team, and I would be pig-biting mad. I know that "people", and I know that's a big time generic term, often have mentioned Nebraska or Missouri as the possible 12th team in the B10. While I doubt it would ever happen, it sure would set up one hell of a conference!!deliverance wrote:frost, many high up people at Texas are mad. B10 West:
Michigan, Wisky, Minny, Iowa, Texas, Northwestern
B10 East:
OSU, PSU, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan State, Illinois
or something like that....

Re: What an injustice.
Believe it or not, there's a lot of ppl stiLl in the university administrations who want to reform the old Southwest Conference. But I don't think Texas would really leave the Big XII. They def are not joining the Big Ten. Like I said before, Big Ten wants Notre Dame first, then Pitt, Iowa State, or Syracuse. I do not believe Pitt or Syracuse would leave, bc of basketball. But Iowa State might. I know that's the last team any of us would want, and I really do not understand what drawing power they have that we don't already get from Iowa, but that's what I've heard. Either way, I don't like Texas all that much, I think their fans are beyond obnoxious, but as a huge fan of college football I cannot help feeling a little bit of embarassment that things turned out the way they did. But the damage is done now, and I know its real easy to hope every player at OU gets hurt and they lose to the SEC winner by 50, but keep in mind that Stoops (and even his brother) did NOT vote today. Bob Stoops has been a class act this week, and I previously didn't really like him. I just don't want to see non OU fans to wish ill on that team. They didn't vote themselves into the title game. But even so, OU has shown propensity to choke in the big one, and UT fans should see the silver lining that an OU debacle will help push a playoff. That's just my opinion. But like I said, I am not a UT fan by any stretch, but I honestly feel bad for those kids today.

Re: What an injustice.
I really don't think Texas would leave either. A lot of alumni and others have hit a boiling point today. They know they have the Big 12 by their family jewels since the Big 12 isn't much without them. The tie breaker rules will be changed. The only problem is that it's too late. The only thing Texas could do is become independent, but that likely won't happen either. They are one of the few schools that could survive doing that, though. TAE, I am glad to see you have a heart and feel for these kids. I knew this was coming, so it was no big shock for me. I knew the computers would turn in favor of Oklahoma today. I was surprised it was by .0400 for them, but the Missouri loss crushed Texas. Now Texas needs a Mizzou victory. Well, I guess at least Bradford has a broken hand. It's a shame it's not the right one.
