Kobe Bryant May Not Be...

Post by deliverance »

the best ever, but he very well could be the toughest basketball player ever. After playing through a tear in his right pinky last season, he continued on to play in the Olympics without surgery. Tonight, he dislocted his ring finger on the same hand and did not sit out in the first quarter after it happened. He dribbled left handed the rest of the game. He managed to score 20 points and have 12 assists against LeBron and the Cavs. The Lakers ended up winning by 17 against the team with the best record in the NBA. It was an amazing performance by Kobe and the Lakers. I will be shocked if Kobe doesn't have to miss the next few games because of the injury. Kobe may never be as great as MJ, but you will never be able to question the man's heart.

He has torn ligaments in his pinky and a dislocated ring finger. Have you ever tried to shoot a basketball with three fingers? You guys must be pretty good.

Kobe played at the HS summer league site in suburban Philly that I coordinated back in the early-mid 90s, along with at least 6 other NBA players who I remember...Here are a few others besides Kobe who played in the league: Rick Brunson, Eddie Jones, Aaron McKie, Rip Hamilton, and my personal favorite, who I ejected from the league when he was a soph in HS around 1991, Rahseed Wallace. I still remember a teammate of Aaron McKie's throwing him an alley-oop off the floor...McKie's teammate was driving the floor on an uncontested fastbreak, stopped suddenly, slammed the ball hard off the floor, and McKie (who was trailing the play) rammed it home with 2 hands. It was utterly ridiculous. Not something you'd see in the WestPac, District 6, or the WPIAL for that matter.

I lived within a mile of Kobe's house and I still remember him taking Brandy to the prom and the police closing the whole neighborhood due to paparazzi...Those were the days...

I don't know what he's trying to say, but did anyone read the article in the Bedford Gazette about Kobe meeting with the sick child from Bedford a few weeks ago? It was on the front page of the Gazette, but I didn't see anything on here about it. I tried to look at the site to post a link. However, their site is awful and you can't find past articles.

Hayden Hess, has CF, and he got his "Make a Wish", and that was to go to LA to see Kobe play and meet him after the game. It was a good write-up and from what the article said, he does that all the time. Very nice to see a pro athlete do that once, let alone make it a regular thing.

nLions. He wasn't found guilty. Everybody has forgot about those allegations, why do you be a man and forget about it too?

Hammy, Im messing around with you. You dont think I know this guy is a hell of a ballplayer, and definitely one of the best in the game today? I know the past is the past, and even athletes mess up sometimes too. I just wanted to get this across that Im sorry about that post before somebody gets on here and flips out on me for a sickly child and a pro athlete doing a nice thing for once. Gotta love that mugshot though.
