Troy Polamalu
Troy Polamalu
Since there is a negative post about Santonio (maybe it's warranted, maybe it's not), I thought we should give equal thought to the good that Polamalu has done for the Pittsburgh area.
Not only is he a great player, he is a great role model. He spends a lot of his time with sick and dying children at Pittsburgh's Children Hospital. I know of 2 kids that he has spent a lot of time with. Unfortunately, one of them has passed. The other has had multiple visits from this player and he even text messages her from what I've been told. Now, if I know of 2 kids this man has devoted time to, how many others are there out there that he has lifted the spirits of? This isn't something he has to do - he does it because he wants to. This is the type of player / role model that I wish more pro players would be. I hope that the Rooney's keep this man in the 'Burgh for his entire career. Even if they don't, I will always be a fan of his for what he has done for these kids.
Now that is something worth while talking about.

But WPIAL-Titan and crimsoncrush won't even visit this thread. It's much easier to tear someone down than it is to praise someone.
Troy Polamalu is the perfect person. Perfect Christian. Perfect football player.
Let the hate begin...

I agree 100% with the positives stated here about TP. he is an excellent role model, absolutely the way pro athletes SHOULD be. No arguments here. Plus, he loves to eat at Off The Rak in E-town!!!

Re: Troy Polamalu
Haha nothing against TP, as he is definitely one of my favorite football players. I love to watch this guy play, but there is no excuse for this play..

My first thought about this is USC is down 10 in the 3rd, and somebody told him to do it.

Re: Troy Polamalu
I can't believe that he didn't get ejected from the game for doing that.

Re: Troy Polamalu
Didnt even have to watch the video, i thought he killed that guy. Reminds me of what frenso states gunners used to do. Not the best move of troys career. but I would agree Troy like a majority of the steelers is a great guy who deserves everything he gets. I actually thought he was about have his career over after his last concussion. I think he is an amazing guy who visits jtown a great deal. its said that the rest of his team cant act more like him and instead of beating the slop outa women and toking up go learn fly-fishing like troy has been doing. Positive use of excess time hes a smart man.

Re: Troy Polamalu
Troy Polamalu is a great player and should be a Hall of Famer, but he had a bad Super Bowl. He was rolling all over the field like usual, but he wasn't hitting anyone. I found one negative in his career just for you, ham.

Re: Troy Polamalu
Polamalu is great. How did someone with so much character come out of USC? I guess he wasn't recruited by Carroll.

Re: Troy Polamalu
Not to take the topic off TP, but did anyone else hear today that Hines Ward might need knee surgery? He had 2 catches for about 43 yards last sunday. He did what he could, but he definitely wasnt the same Hines Ward. I hope he recovers fast, and comes back strong in 2009.

Sounds like it's time for Limas to get some playing time.
