Trash Detail and Team Captain

Post by WPIAL~Titan »

Read below from the JOKEster...TAE, you think he was going to be gone now???

Paterno: Linebacker flunked random drug test
Saturday, April 25, 2009
By Ron Musselman, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. --- Penn State coach Joe Paterno said today that troubled outside linebacker Navorro Bowman recently flunked a random drug test administered by the school.

"Sometime we tested him and he was positive, and we were aware of that," Paterno said prior to the Blue-White game at Beaver Stadium.

Bowman violated his probation last week --- he admitted to smoking marijuana -- and was given an additional year by Centre County Judge Bradley Lunsford.

Lunsford told Bowman if he violates his probation again, he will be sentenced to six months in jail.

Paterno said he will meet with Bowman next week to decide his punishment. Bowman, a first-team All-Big Ten Conference performer, did not suit up for today's final spring scrimmage.

"I don't want to overreact," Paterno said. "He's been a pretty good kid. But, on the other hand, he's got to solve his problem, and we'll see how we work it out next week."

Read the garbage above to codify that. Who is he kidding??? He is going to meet with Navorro next week to NAME HIM TEAM CAPTAIN. Then, because he was a really bad boy, Jokepa is going to make Navorro pick up trash for 15 minutes on the Sunday morning after the Akron game, and then get REALLY TOUGH and suspend him from the team for the FIRST SERIES of the Akron game too.

Great comeback!!! And I'll bet in the past 27 years there have been more arrests with psu fball than Pitt fball. Especially with the recent rash of arrests the last few years.

PSU would be making a mistake by letting a kid like this hang around. They have all eyes on them because of the ESPN investigation last season. If you continue to let this happen, it's only going to get worse.

Have I defended Bowman?

And I'm not a DA in Centre County, so don't hold me accountable for botched justice. The kid should be off the team.

You can rail all you want about Paterno and slaps on the wrists by the judge, but Paterno isn't the one who works for the county. Is the problem Joe, or is this stuff really the fault of what is essentially a poor lack of responsibility by the justice system up there?

The justice system???? What about Penn State's justice? Does JoePa base his decisions on the laws of Pennsylvania, or does PSU make decisions on their own about athletes getting into trouble.

I'm talking about the actual law enforcement in Centre County. The judges or the DAs or whoever. They just botched this Bowman thing because they "didn't know how to handle it." Paterno's depth chart justice is irrelevant. Its the actual law enforcement who empowers all of this. I don't agree with those kids being off the team for getting in that fight, but I do agree with the ppl who think Bowman should be gone.

apparently abpk hasnt played sports because part of sports is building character and being a good citizen-unlike many of the recent psu arrested athletes.

I would rather root for a losing team that has a good reputation, then to win at all cost.

Or maybe I would rather WIN with character.

If you think for a second that Pitt and Penn State are on the same level on the football field then explain this:

-Last time Pitt won 10 games- 1981
-Penn State 10 win seasons during that period: 11

Or you going to justify this with "well Pitt only had one less draft pick than PSU"

Its OK though, they are model citizens.

Your clueless.
