Pirate beat writer for post gazette has in his blog that Adam LaRoche has been traded to the Red Sox.

This trade actually makes sense for the Pirates. Adam LaRoche never panned out for them. He'll probably go and be productive with the Red Sox like he was in Atlanta, but I don't think he enjoyed playing for Pittsburgh too much. He had to want to cry when Atlanta traded him to Pittsburgh.

Good trade for the Pirates. Got a double AA shortstop out of the mix, maybe he'll turn out to be the replacement for Jack Wilson somewhere down the road. The Pirates have a pretty good depth of players to plug in at first base and see what clicks. Who knows, I've already written off next year too though.
