Don't look now...Pitt in the top 10 in both of those opinion polls...You know, the polls, national TV appearances, and attendance are the only thing that matters to NitWits?

Take heart: PSU still has better attendance than Pitt.

We Pitters will enjoy this for the week, because I fully expect Fat Charlie to be throwing the whole refrigerator at Pitt Saturday night.

Pitt still has yet to play a ranked opponent this year. Pitt lost to NC State, who finally beat it's 2nd D-I opponent this year.

Pitt plays ND this week. Another unranked team.

Pitt is 12th in the BCS.

We'll see what Pitt does when they FINALLY play a ranked opponent for the first time in 2009. For someone who's as interested in cupcakes as you are, you sure haven't looked at who Pitt has beaten in 2009 so far.

You keep asking us what PSU's signature win is to this point in the year. What's Pitt's? Connecticut? Rutgers?

I think Pitt is being written off in at least 2 of their last 3 games, but I don't think any of those three teams are much better than Pitt.

WVU is like PSU this year- good enough to beat the bums and not good enough to beat good teams.

Notre Dame is not very good- they might have the offense to beat Pitt though.

Cincy- excellent offense... Where's the D?



I'd like to see Pitt lose at least two of three not because I don't like them but because of Titan. If they lose two of three, we'll see them in a real nice bowl game like CFN is projecting.


PSU needs to take care of business and land another New Year's Day game. Again proving that attendance and interest do matter.

Penn State is in all reality no better than #40-50 (same with Notre Dame), but they get free passes because of the huge media love fest, their large and obnoxious fan bases, and because of Rockne, Gipper, and JokePa. The interesting part is, Both PSU and ND have top 10 TALENT on their teams, and consistently do absolutely nothing with all that talent. Indeed, no two college football teams in the country do less with more talent than PSU and ND.

Pitt could win all of their last 3, or lose all 3. Either way, they will #1 be in a bowl game and #2 win or go down playing CREDIBLE TOP 25 TYPE TEAMS, unlike that "bastian of power" to the east whose signature win for the season is and will be TEMPLE.

Pitt's defense is beginning to come around. With that said, their last 3 teams will be against teams who are offense oriented. Pitt was dominant vs. USF and Cuse, except for the 6 PI calls on the 3rd and 4th string corners during the last 5 minutes of the Cuse game.

Who cares whether Pitt plays in a bowl on December 27th and PSU plays on New Year's Day? We all know that bowls are about generating revenue and attandance, which PSU is all about, regardless of whether their team STINKS or not. PSU has been throughly dominated in both games against credible competition this year. PSU is nothing more than a second rate Big Ten team, let alone a player on the national level. They're not even as good as Pitt.

Coach, and if you know as much football as you think you do and could watch the game impartially, you would've seen what I saw Saturday night: A team that lost to PURDUE dominating PSU in every phase of the game. As a matter of fact, Penn State should have been SHUT OUT...There's no way Clark was in on that 4th down sneak.

Remember, PSU embarassed themselves last year in a BCS game in which they clearly did not belong and a game in which USC could've chosen to name their score...and they lost to a team that Pitt beat early in the season.

PSU has simply been no better overall than Pitt over the past decade.

Wait so Pitt is playing credible top 25 teams or not? You just said Notre dame wasn't one, so you pretty much cant count them as credible. West Virginia can barely beat Louisville, so I wouldn't call them Credible. But, your right they will go down playing Cincinnatti who is a good team.

Answer me this. Pitt is 10th in the nation right now. Now how many posts have you made in the past week about Penn State on Bleachercoaches and Pantherlair? Now how many have you made about Pitt? Kinda pathetic don't ya think?
